(143) of the peace for the County of Somerset in the province of Maryland Francis Porter of Somerset County Inholder and John Dennis Jur of the Same place Victular and Acknowledged themselves to be Indebted Unto Our Said Lord the King in the Sum of Ten pounds Sterling to be Levyed upon their and ^Each &^ Every of their Lands and Tenements Goods and Chattles to the Use of Our Said Lord the King his heirs and Successors if failure be made of the Under Written Condition The Condition of this Recognizance is such that Whereas the Above Bounden Francis Porter is by the Justices Within Named Licenced Admitted and Allowed to Keep a Common Drink House in the House where he Now Lives and in his house at Dividing Creek by the Court House If therefore the Said Francis Porter shall not During the Continuance of the said Licence suffer any Unlawfull Games to be Used in his said Houses but shall During the said Time Maintain Good Order ^and Rule^ therein that then this recognizance to be Void or Otherwise to Remain in full force and Vertue Taken before Us the Day and Year above Written Jno Smith Thomas Williams Ordered that Ambross Riggin pay or Cause to be paid unto James Townsend Sixty pounds of tobo being due unto him for his attendance two days as an Evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against him he having made Oath to the same &a Ordered that Ambross Riggin pay or Cause to be paid unto James Wonnell thirty pounds of tobacco being due unto him for his wifes attendance One day as an Evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against him she having made Oath to the same &a Ordered that Ambross Willett pay Or Cause to be paid Unto Thomas Collins William Laughlinghouse and William Willett Three Hundred and Sixty pounds of Tobacco Each being Due Unto them for their Attendance Twelve Days Each as Evidences On behalfe of ^the said^ Ambross Willett Against Hutton Hill against him they haveing made Oath to the same &a Ordered that Ambross Willett pay or Cause to be paid Unto Peter Claywell One Hundred and fifty pounds of Tobacco being Due Unto him for his Attendance five Days ^as an Evidence on behalfe of the said^ Ambross Willett Against Hutton Hill he haveing made Oath to the same &a Ordered that Humphry Chapman pay or Cause to be paid Unto Robert Wattson and Baily Fisher sixty pounds of Tobacco Each being Due Unto them for their Attendance Two Days Each as Evidences On behalf ^of^ the said Humphry Chapman Against Charles Veazey they haveing made Oath to the same &a Ordered that Humphry Chapman pay Or Cause to be paid Unto Benjamin Holland One Hundred and Eighty pounds of Tobacco being Due Unto him for his Attendance Six Days As An Evidence On behalf of the said Humphry Chapman Against Charles Veazey he haveing made Oath to the same &a Ordered that James Breeman Pay Or Cause to be paid Unto Patrick Connelly One hundred and Twenty pounds of Tobacco being Due Unto him for his Attendance four Days Against As An Evidence On behalf of the said James Breeman Against James Dickerson he haveing made Oath to the same &a |
