Somerset County ss  Aaron Lynn late of Somerset County planter was attached
to answer unto John Hovington of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a
And whereupon the said John by Francis Allen his attorney Complaines that
whereas he the said John is a good true and faithfull Leige Subject of Our Lord the King that now is
and of good name fame repute conversation and Condition as well amongst his Neighbours and other
faithfull Liege Subjects of our Lord the King to whom he is known is held and reputed and without
any Crime of perjury from the time of his Nativity hitherto hath Kept and preserved himselfe unhurt
and unattainted nevertheless the said Aaron being not Ignorant of the premisses of his mere and wicked
malice fore thought plotting and Maliciously Intending the good Name and fame of the said John
to hurt detract and make worse those falce and Scandelous words of the said John in the presents
and hearing of sundry Liege Subjects of Our Lord the King now the twelfth day of February ann Dom
Seventeen hundred & thirty two at Stepney parish in Somerset County afd within the Jurisdiction of
this Court to and of him the said John with an audible voice did publish pronounce rehearse
and Speak viz.t (you) speaking to and meaning the said John (are a damned perjured villain)
the said John still meaning [and have taken a false Creditt Estimation and repute afd is very
much hurt and is Lyable Innocently to be brought in danger of Incurring of the penalty
and punishment by the Law in Such Cases provided but also sundry sums of money and
tobacco for the asserting and vindicating of his Innocency in that part is forced to expend
whereupon he saith that he is worse and hath damage to the Value of Sixty pounds Currant
money of maryland and thereupon he brings suite &a                   pledges      Jno Doe

           And the afd Aaron Lynn by George Douglas his attorney Cometh and defendeth the force
and Injury when &a and prayeth Leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath
it and the same day is given to the afd John here also &a

          Att which said next Court to wit the Ninteenth day of June Anno Dom One thousand seven
hundred and thirty three Came againe as well the afd John Hovington as the afd Aaron Lynn
by their attorneys afd and whereupon the said Aaron prayeth further Leave thereof to
Imparle here untill next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd John herealso
