with Nathaniel Brittingham & Benjamin Holland his securitys both of the County afd Gent present here
in Court in their proper persons they ^all severally^ acknowledged themselves to be Indebted unto the afd Micajah Brittingham
in manner and form following that is to say the said John Brittingham in fifty pounds sterling and the afd
Nathaniel Brittingham and Benjamin Holland in twenty five pounds sterling Each of their Severall goods &
Chattells Lands and tenements to the Use of the Said Micajah Brittingham his heirs and assigns to be made
and Levied   If it Happen that the said John Brittingham do not Comply with the Law in relation to the
Guardianship afd and do not deliver up unto the said Micajah Brittingham all his Estate both reall and personall
when ever ^the^ same is Legally required peaceably and quietly without fraud or further delay &a

     To the worshipfull the Justices of Somerset County in Court sitting the humble pet.n
of William Turpin Jun.r humbly sheweth        That Whereas your petitioner has a negro
man named Burson aged Sixty eight Years who is rendered by his age and Other Infirmityes altogether Incapable
of making tobacco to defray his taxes as also a negro woman named penelope of whose age we Cannot
tell but in all probability she is older than the negro man and is also rendered incapable of Labour so
that they are both become Chargable to your petitioner prays that they may be set tax free and he in duty
bound will pray
                                                the petition afd being read & heard and fully understood & mature deliberation
thereupon had   Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd William Turpin be discharged
for the future from paying of Taxes for the afd Negro's Called Burson and Penelope as by the
petition afd is praid &a

       Ordered that John Caldwell and Mitchell Dashiell of Somerset County Gent goe and view a bridg
over broad Creek thats broke down and agree with some person or persons for the rebuilding the same
bridge the Cheapest and best for the Interest of the County and they the said John Caldwell and Mitchell
to Make their report to November Court next &a

Command was given to the Coroners of Somerset County that they should
           take William Turpin late of Somerset County Gent if he should be
found in their bailywick and him should safe keep so that they might have his body
before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in the same
County the third tuesday of March then next to answer unto Joshua Caldwell Esq.r high sher of the ^same^ County afd
of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a and that thereafter they should not fail &a

                   And the said Joshua Caldwell by William Beckingham his attorney Complaines against the afd
William Turpin in the plea afd as followeth vizt

                         Somerset County sst   William Turpin late of Somerset County Gent was attached to
answer unto Joshua Caldwell Esq.r high sheriff of the Same County of a plea of trespass upon the
Case &a    And whereupon the same Joshua by William Beckingham his attorney Complaines that whereas
