give security for the payment of the Severall Officers fees due by occasion of the premisses afd  Thereupon a Certain Danl

Comfort Inloss

                                   The Jurors for the right honourable the Lord proprietary that now is
for the body of Somerset County afd upon their Oath do present that Comfort Inloss Late of All Hallows
parish in the County afd Spinster the first day of November in the Year of our Lord God one thousand
seven hundred and thirty three at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ
fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permitt the same unknown person then and there
to have Carnall knowledge of her body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the same Comfort
to the high displeasure of almighty God to the Evill Example of all Others in Such Case Offending Contrary to the
peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the act of assembly
in Such Case Lately made and provided &.a
    Test   Joseph Hall                     On the backside of the foregoeing bill of Indictment it was Endorsed Viz.t

                         Thereupon Command was given to the sheriff of Somerset County that he should take the said
Comfort Inloss if &.a to answer &.a and now hereafterwards to witt the Ninteenth day of march anno Dom
One thousand Seven hundred and thirty three before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now
held at dividing Creek in and for the County afd Came the afd Comfort Inloss in her proper person and being
by the Sheriff sett to the barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the
premisses afd above upon her Imposed says that of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed she is
guilty thereof and hath nothing to pay her fine for the fact afd

    Whereupon all and Singular the premisses here being seen and fully understood   It is Considered that
the afd Comfort Inloss be whipt at the publick whiping post with ten Lashes on the bare back well
Laid on untill the blood appear and that she be taken &.a    and thereupon as to the Corporall punishment
afd Command is given to the sheriff of Somerset County that he do thereof Immediate Execution
afterwards in the Same Court Came the said sheriff and made return that he had done the Execution of the
Judgmt afd by whiping of the afd Comfort Inloss at the publick whiping post with ten Lashes on
the bare back well Laid on untill the blood appear as afd he was Commanded    thereupon the said
Comfort Inloss is ordered to give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by means
of the premisses afd but for want thereof the said Comfort Inloss is Committed into the Custody of the sher
of Somerset County there to remain &.a the said Sherriffe to witt Josa Caldwell Gent present here in Court
took Charge of ye said Comfort Inloss accordingly &.a
