113 his Committing of fornication with her the said Mary Maguire and do and depart the same Court without Leave thereof &.a Whereupon the afd John MccClester prays the Court here that the afd Mary Maguire may be adjudged to serve him for the trouble of his hous Loss of time and Charges that he was at at the time of the said Mary Maguires Lying in with the Bastard Child afd &.a Thereupon the said Mary Maguire is adjudged by the Court here to Serve her said Master John MccClester his heirs or assignes six full months to Commence at the Expiration of the said Mary Maguires already Servitude which said Six months Servitude is adjudged by the Court here to be full Satisfaction for the said John MccClesters trouble Charge and Loss of time that the said John MccClester had & was at at the time of the Lying in of the said Mary Maguire &.a
in the Year of Our Lord God Seventeen hundred and thirty three at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permitt the same unknown person then and there to have Carnall knowledge of her body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the same Eliz.a to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all Others in Such Case Offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the Act of assembly in such Case lately made and provided &.a Test Mitchell Dashiell On the backside of the aforegoing bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed vizt Billa Vera Jn Purnall foreman Thereupon Command was given to the sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said Eliz.a Townsend if &.a to answer &.a And now hereafterwards to witt the ninteenth day of March anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty three before the Justices of his Lordship County Court of Somerset Now held at dividing Creek in and for the County afd Came the afd Eliza Townsend in her proper person and being by the Sheriff set to the barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed says that of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed she is guilty thereof and makes Oath that a Certain Stephen Winright is the begetter of the Child she stands Indicted for and is willing to pay her fine for the fact afd whereupon all and singular the premisses here being seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Eliza Townsend pay to his Lordship the Lord proprietary thirty Shillings Currant money for her fine by Occasion of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed and |
