Depositions of Wittnesses taken upon the Land Called North Benslitt in somerset Co.ty
on the Seabordside and on the South side of Sai.t Martins River this Twenty third
day of Aprill one Thousand Seven hundred and thirty one before us the Subscribers
comission as appointed by the Worshipfull the Justices of somerset County Court
to Examine Wittnesses conserving the bounds of the afd Land as follows Viz.t
John Onorton of Somerset County Planter aged forty five Years or their abouts
being by us Sworn^e^ upon the holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth and
saith that about fifteen or sixteen years ago he was in Company with
Stephen Odear and Tho.s Quillin and they Shewed him a markt white oak
standing on the South west side of a Creek Called Back Creek by the Water side
between the mouth of Rutry branch and the old house Gut and that the afd
Stephen Odear told him this Deponent that the afd white oak was the
first Bounder of Boins Land Called North Benslit and that this Uncle Stephen
Coston Shewed it to him and further saith Not                           his

          Jonas Smith aged thirty Eight Years or thereabouts being by us Sworn upon the holy Evangelist
of almighty God deposeth and Saith that about Eleven or twelve Years agoe he Saw an Oak markt
with Sixteen notches Standing by the Side of the afd back Creek about the Same place that John Onorton
                                                                                                                                               his
Swore to and that he took it to be the first bounder of north Benslitt and further Saith not James I Smith
                                                                                                                                              marke
                   Tho.s Boden aged forty One Years or thereabouts being by us Sworn upon the holy Evangelist
of Almighty God deposeth and Saith that about thirteen or Fourteen Years agoe he Saw a white oke
Oake that Seemed to be marked for a Corner tree that Stood by the Side of the afd Back Creek about
the Same place that John Onorton has Swore to and Some time after he was telling Nathaniel Racklife
of the afd tree and Rackliffe told him he thought it was the first bounder of North Benslitt for
that Stood thereabouts and further Saith not                                         his

                And we the Subscribers Caused two white Oakes Saplins to be marked with twelve Notches
each about fifteen foot asunder at the place the above Evidences Swore to

Charles Roach and Benj.a Gooks all of somerset County Gent.m Greeting
know ye that we have appointed you or any three or two of you to be
our commissioners to Examine Evidences on behalf of a Certain John Magloghlin
of the County afd in relation to the bounds of a tract of Land Lying in the county
afd containing one hundred and fifty acres called wood Land we therefore require
you or any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or any three or two
of you shall seem convenient you meet on the afd Land called wood Land you
first having taken your oaths on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God according
to Act of Assembly in Such case made and provided and there cause to come before
you or any three or two of you all Such Evidences as Shall be to you or any three or
two of you Nominated by the said complainent or Def.t if any and that you or any
three or two of you Examine them upon their Corperall oaths to be by you or any
three or two of you administred on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the
