Janry the 13.th 1730
came the within named M.r John Caldwell and made Oath In due forme to Execute the
within Commission according to act of Assembly in such case made and provided before
me &c                                                                                                            J Handy

Come Before me the within named ^Mr^ Thomas Gillis and made oath on the holy Evangelist
that he would Execute the within Commission according to act of assembly to the Best
of his ^skill and^ knowledge                                                                    John Caldwell

Maryland Somerset County ss   These are humbly to Certifie that we the subscribers
by vertue of his Lordships Commission to us Directed from the Justices of ye said county
court Bearing Date the 24.th day of November 1730 to Examine Evidences concerning the
Bounders of a Certain tract of Land Called Trouble now in the Possession of William Allexander
and having sett up notes under our hands as the Law directs we did apoint to meet on ye
said Land on the 14.th day of Janry 1730 and having Given our Summonses for John Godert
Geo.e Godert Isaac Noble and Thomas Bruerton we ware Derected by Geo.r Godert and
others to the stump of an old oak tree about an hundred yards to the north of a point of
a swamp that Devides two Ridges being in the fork of the two main Rodes that Leades
from Gilleys mill to monoken Bridge and Whitehaven Town appositt to M.r Adamses
Plantation by the chapell and about three hundred yards Distance from Each of the
said Roads which said Stump was proved by the oath of George Godertt and John Godertt as
well appear by their Depositions hereunto Annexed and we did mark three Pine Saplens
standing in a triangle Round the said Stump with four notches on one side next to the ye Stump
to Gelleys mill Branch and Near to the Edge of William Allexander Clear ground and about
about an hundred yeards to the North ward of ye said Allexanders tobacco house which said
white oake the said Noble and Bruerton Proved to be a bounder of the afd Land as will
appear by their Dippossitions hereunto annexed and being Directed by the said Bruerton
over the said Branch to a marked seader Post by the side of a smale Branch and by a
fence side that now divides Betwext ye said Allexander and a Plantation now in the
Possition of Robert Harris which said Place where the said post now stands is proved
by the said Bruerton as Per his Depossion doth appear as Wittness our hands this 14.th
day of Janry 1730/1                                                                              John Coldwell

The deposison of John Godert aged about 41 years being sworn on the Holy Evangelist
of allmighty God Deposeth that about twenty years ago he was sold by his Father
or Brother George or Both that one old Dead Red oak at the place here he this Deponant
now stands which now is fell Down and Roten was the bound^er^ of Thomas Standbridges
Land that is now in the Possion of W.m Allexander and forder sayeth not taken Before
us this 14.th day of Janry 1730/1                                                            John Coldwell

    The depossion of George Godartt aged about forty nine years Being sworn on the
    Holy Evangelist of allmight god Deposeth and sayeth that about twenty five or their
    thirty years ago he was shew'd a marked Red Oak standing in the Place where he this
    deponant now stands the said trees being now done and Roten to a Stump by his
    father who Told this Deponant that the said Read oak was a bounder of Thomas
    Standbridges Land Called Trouble now in the Possion of W.m Alexander and forder
    sayeth not taken before us this 14.th day of Janry 1730/1      John Caldwell

The Depossition of Isaac Noble aged fifty years being sworn on the holy Evangelist of Allmighty
God Deposeth and sayeth and sayeth that about twenty seven years ago Being in
company with Griffin Jones and old Geo.e Godartt Robert Given Being Employed as a
Survay^or^ to Lay out a Parcell of Land Given by sd Godortt to said Jones and Runing a
Line of weles Chance to the End of one hundred and fifty Perches and then the said
Godortt said Lett us go tot Standbriges Bounder Being a marked white oak Near a Branch
