47 Somerset ss Att a court of the Right honrble Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c held at dividing Creek in Somerset County by his ^said^ Lordships Commissioners and Justices of within the Same County (the peace to keep assigned) third tuesday of of march being the sixteenth day of the Same month and in the Sixteenth Year of his Said Lordships dominion &.c Ann.o Dom 1730 present
Petitioner under stands Your worships are at present in want of a Cryer to Officiate in the room of William Marchment and your petitioner being Indefferent well qualified for the Said office as Cryer Humbly prays Your worships will be pleased to admitt him to ye Said Office and Your petitioner as in duty bound will pray &.c Jno Sheldon The petition aforesaid being Read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid John Sheldon be admitted as Cryer of this court he first takeing the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Government with ye Oath of Cryer and Subscribe the Oath of abjuration and test Thereupon the Said John Sheldon present here in court in his proper person takes the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Goverment with the Oath of Cryer and Subscribs ye oath of abjuration and test and is admitted &c Proclamation being made in usual form and the Sher of Somerset County to witt John Purnall Gent.m makes return of the pannell of the Grand jurors as followeth viz.t Charles Rackliffe, Robert Jones Samuel Hopkins Jun.r, Jacob Cordery, John Newbold, Edmond Crapper, Thomas Coffin, W.m Fasitt Jun.r Geo McGramery, francis Landcake, Thomas Nathaniel Williams, Joseph Houston, Thomas Wright, William Roach, Isaac Coston, George Howard, Fisher Walton, William Vaughan, John Tull Whereupon proclamation being made ^again^ in Usuall form and the Jurors aforesaid so as afd being Impannelled and Severally Called Over by their names do appear as above and thereupon they are Sworn and Charges and Sent Out to Consider &.c Soon after the Grand Jurors being Impannelled sworn and Charged as aforesaid Returned hereinto Court and being Severally called over appears and being asked if they had made any bills of Indictment or presentments Return the following presentments against Sarah Jackson, Sarah Smith, Tabitha Morris, Alexander Gordon, Dunkin Murray, John Huett Nutter thereupon the Grand Jurors afd are discharged and ordered that they be allowed three hundred and seventy fivety pounds of tobacco for their publick Service this Court and against the aforesaid Sarah Jackson, Sarah Smith, Tabitha Morris |
