County of Somerset aforesaid within the Jurisdiction of this Court one pair of boots of the value of one pound ten shillings one pair of Gloves of the value of three shillings Currant money of maryland of the goods and Chattells of a Certain Walter Codd then and there found then and there feloniously stole took and Carried away against the peace of the right Honrble the Lord proprietary his good rule and government and also against the form of the act of assembly in that case made and provided Test Eleanor Covington, James Jones & John Covington On the backside of the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed viz.t Ignoramus
thousand seven hundred and thirty three in his proper person and as well for the said Lord the King the said Lord Proprietary as for himselfe gives the Court here to understand and be Informed that he the tenth day of June in the Year of Our Lord seventeen hundred and thirty three afd at Somerset County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court seized to the use of the said Lord the King the said Lord Prorpry and himselfe as forfeited the vessell or shallop Called the somerset whereof was then master Andw Scott together with three hhds of tobacco three deer skins and one skillet for this after the Twenty ninth day of September which was in the Year of Our Lord Sixteen hundred and seventy One to witt the afd tenth day of June in the Year of Our Lord Seventeen hundred and thirty three aforesaid in somerset County afd Three hogs heads of Tobacco of the growth of the province of Maryland were Laden and taken on board the Said Vessell or shallop without any bond being given that the said Tobacco should be Carried to great brittain or some other of his Majesties British plantations Contrary to the form of the Statute in such Cases provided whereupon the said Edward Chambers Esq.r as well for the said Lord the King the said Lord propry as for himselfe prays the advice of the Court here in the premisses and that the said vessell or shallop together with her Tackle apparell and furniture and the said three hoggs heads of Tobacco three deer skins & one skillet Remain forfeited to the Use of the said Lord the king the said Lord propry and the said Edward Chambers Esq.r and that he the said Edward Chambers Esq.r may have one third part of the value thereof according to the form of the Statute afd Upon which proclamation for the Lord the King (as the manner is) was made if any person would Inform the Court here why the said ^vessell or^ shallop together with her Tackle apparell and furniture three hoggsheads of Tobacco three deer skins and One Skillet to the said Lord the King the said Lord proprietary and |
