1733 303 thereupon had Wherefore it is Considered that the afd Richard Driskill pay unto his Lordship the right honrble the Lord proprietary One hundred pounds of tobacco for his fine for the trespass and assault in the In the Information afd Contained whereof he is Convict and that the said Richard Driskill be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd the Sher of Somerset County to witt Joshua Caldwell Gent present herein Court took Charge of ye said Richard Driskill accordingly &c Likwise the said Richard Driskill is ordered by the Court here to give Security as well for the Severall Officers their fees due on a Jury sworn against him for Robert in March Court Last past as for the Severall Officers Fees due by means of the premisses afd Thereupon a Certain Moses Duskey present here in court undertakes for the said Richard Driskill to pay the Severall Officers Fees due on the Jury Sworn in march Court Last afd as the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses on the Information afd &c Littleton Bowen appears according to his Recognizance Entered into for his good behaviour and appearance to answer his being Suspected of Chosing a guiney &c and nothing being Objected against him the said Littleton Bowen is discharged &c
Henry Gent who prosecutes for the Lord proprietary and gives the Court to understand and be Informed that Thomas Vance late of the Said County planter the twentieth day of March in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and thirty One in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain Sarah Gorde of the County afd Spinster and on the body of the said Sarah then and there did begett a bastard Child to the high displeasure of Almighty God and to the Evill Example of all others in Such Cases offending and against the form of the act of assembly in Such Cases made and provided wherefore the said Robert Jenckins Henry prays ye advise of the Court in the premises and due process of Law thereon against the said Thomas may Issue Thereupon command was given to the sherriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said Thomas Vance if &c to answer &c and afterward in the Same Court to witt the twentieth day of June Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty three before the Justices of the same Court Came the said Thomas Vance by Francis Allen his attorney and had a hearing of the Information afd and Says that he Cannot gainsay but that the said Thomas Vance is guilty of the premisses in the Information afd in manner and form above against him |
