Moses Chapman
        bound to
Rowland Hodge
Whereas the Same Moses Chapman was bound out by the Court an apprentice unto a Certain Humphry
Chapman and forasmuch as the same apprentice did appear to the Court to be sickley and not able to
Learn the trade of a plaisterer the which he was formerly bound to and Likewise the said Humphry
Chapman master of the afd apprentice present herein Court is willing that the afd apprentice should be discharged
from his Service and bound Out to some Other Service which is Granted him &c

          Thereupon the said Moses Chapman present herein Court in his proper person is ^by^ the Same Court of
his Own consent bound by the Court unto a Certain Rowland Hodge untill he arrives at the age of Twenty one
years the said Moses Chapman to Serve his said Master the full term of time afd during which term the said apprentice
his said Master well and faithfully shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly

                In consideration of which Service the said Rowland Hodge present herein Court in his
proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting on behalfe
of the said Moses Chapman that he the said Rowland Hodge during the term afd will Learn his said
apprentice the trade of a weaver and at the Expiration of his service give his said apprentice a new
suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise provide for his said apprentice
meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing and all other Necessarys sufficient for Such an apprentice
to have and wear during the term aforesaid &c

      Whereupon It is Ordered by the Court here that the said Rowland Hodge give Recognizance with
One Security for to Comply with the Covenants afd &c

                      Thereupon the said Rowland Hodge with Charles Veasey of Somerset County planter his
security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to be Indebted unto
the said Moses Chapman in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling of their bodys goods or Chattells
Lands or tenements Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of the said Moses Chapman
his heirs or assigns   If it happen that the afd Rowland Hodge do not during the term of
Servitude afd Learn his said apprentice the trade of a weaver and at the Expiration of his Servitude
do not give his said apprentice a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths
and do not Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing and all
Other necessary's Sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &c

At the prayer of the afd Rowland Hodge the same Moses Chapman is discharged from paying of Taxes
this present year &c

    To the worshipfull the Justices of Somerset Court now Sitting the humble petition
of Elizabeth Waters sheweth that your petitioner has two Negroes Sepio and Major thro'
old age is uncapable of serving and hath paid taxes for them this 40 Years Last past
and both paid Taxes in Vergenia before they Came to Maryland   Your petitioner therefore prays
