Somerset ss
                    The Jurors for the Right honrble the Lord Proprietary of the province
of Maryland that now is &c for the body of Somerset County upon their
       Oath do present that John Glass Late of Somerset County Planter the Seventh day of
February in the Year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and thirty two with force and armes
in the County of Somerset aforesaid within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain
Joseph Houston in the peace of God and the aforesaid Lord Proprietary then and there being
an assault did make and him then and there beat Wounded and Evilly Intreated so that of
his Life it was greatly despaired and other harmes to him then and there did to the grievous
damage of him ye Said Joseph and against the peace of the Right Honrble the Lord Prory

       On the back side of the foregoing Bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorsed viz.t Billa Vera
       John Donelson foreman

         Thereupon Command was Given to the Sher of Somerset County that he Should take the Said
John Glass if &c to answer &c and afterwards here at this Court holden at dividing Creek in Somerset
County aforesaid the twentieth day of March anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty
two before the Justices of the Same Court Judicially Sitting Came the aforesaid John Glass in his proper
person according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his pledges in that part and assault
aforesaid above upon him Imposed says that of the trespass and assault afd as by the Indictmt
afd above upon him Imposed he is Gilty thereof and is willing to pay his fine for the same

    whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and Fully Understood &
mature deliberation thereupon had &c

       It's Considered by the Court here that the afd John Glass pay unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary
for his fine here upon him Imposed by Occasion of the trespass and assault afd whereof in
form afd he is Convict two hundred pounds of tobacco and that the said John Glass be taken to
satisfie his Said Lordship of the fine aforesaid   whereupon the Said John Glass is ordered to Give
Security for the payment of the Severall Officers fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd thereupon
a Certain John Scarbrough of Somerset County present here in Court undertakes for the said
John Glass to pay the Severall Officers fees due as afd &c
