 Somerset ss     You Henry Fitzwaters George Dashiell and David Wilson do Confess
Judgment to Joshua Caldwell John Dennis and Isaac Fleming
for the sume of Eight hundred and thirty Six pounds of tobacco which
sum was Recovered by the said Joshua Caldwell John Dennis and
Isaac Fleming against Henry Fitzwaters on the fifteenth Day of August in the County
Court the said Eight hundred and thirty Six Pounds of tobacco to be Levied of your
Bodys goods or Chattells Lands or Tenements for the Use of the Said Joshua Caldwell Jno
Dennis and Isaac Fleming in Case the Said Henry Fitzwaters shall not pay and
Satisfie to the said Joshua Caldwell, John Dennis and Isaac Fleming the said
Eight hundred and thirty Six pounds of Tobacco so as aforesd Recovered against him
with the Addittonall Cost thereon on the tenth Day of Febry Next   W.m Fasitt

 Somerset County ss    Theophilus Dennis late of Somerset County planter
was Attached to answere unto Lazarus Maddox of a plea of
trespass upon the Case &c     And Whereupon the said Lazarus
by Francis Allen his Attorney Complains that whereas the said Theophilus the
first Day of March ann Dom Seventeen hundred and thirty one at Somerset
County aforesd Within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the said
Lazarus in one Cow not under four Years old ^nor^ not above Seven Years and ten Bushels
of Indian Corne as by account hereunto annexed may in Court appear and being
so thereof Indebted the said Theophilus in Consideration thereof the Day and Year
aforesd at the County aforesd Within the Jurisdiction aforesd upon himselfe did
assume and to the said Lazarus then and three did faithfully promise that he
the said Theophilus the aforesd Cow and ten bushells of Indian Corne to the said
Lazarus when he should be thereunto Requested he would well and faithfully
pay and Content Nevertheless the said Theophilus his Promise and Assumption
aforesd in forme aforesd made Nothing Regarding but Plotting and fraudulently
Intending the said Lazarus in that parte Craftilly and Subtilly to Deceive and
Defraud the said Cow and tenn bushells of Indian Corne the said Lazarus altho
the same to do the said Th^e^ophilus by the said Lazarus on the aforesd first Day of
March in the Year aforesd and often afterwards at the County aforesd within the
Jurisdiction aforesd he was thereunto Requested hath not paid or to him for the
Same in any Sort Contented but the same to him hitherto to Pay or in any Sort
for the same to Content hath Refused and Still Doth Refuse and Deny Whereupon
he saith he is worse and hath Damage to the Value of five pounds
Current Money of Maryland and thereupon he brings Suit &c
