261 John MccClester John Handy and James Dashiell who takes the same and Severally subscribes the Oath of abjuration and test and take their places on the bench as followeth vizt
Tatman to serve his said Master Edward Wootten the full term aforesaid during which term the said James Tattman his said Master well and faithfully shall serve his Secretts Keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly shall do and in all things as a good and faithfull servant shall demean himselfe towards his said Master and all his during the term aforesaid In consideration of which service the said Edward Wootten present herein Court Covenanteth with the Justices of the same Court on Court Judicially sitting on behalfe of the said James Tattman that he ye said Edward Wootten during the term aforesaid will Learn his said apprentice the trades of a tanner & shoemaker and at the expiration of his servitude give him as many tooles as may be Sufficient to make a pair of shoes and a heifer of three Years Old and a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing and all Other Necessarys sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &c whereupon it is ordered by the Court here that the said Edward Wootten give security for to Comply with the Covenants aforesaid &c Thereupon the said Edward Wootten with Joshua Caldwell of Somerset County Gent his security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and stand Justly Indebted unto the said James Tattman in the sum of twenty pounds Sterling of their bodys goods and Chattles Lands and tenements seperately to be made and Levied to the use of the said James Tattman his heirs and assignes If it happen that the aforesaid Edward Wootten do not during the term ^of servitude^ aforesaid Learn his said apprentice the trades of a tanner and shoemaker and at the Expiration of his Servitude do not give him as many tooles as may be Sufficient to make a pair of shoes and a heifer of three Years Old and a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and do not Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing and all Other Necessarys sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the term afd &c |
