County merchant as his Gardian which is granted him thereupon the said William Dashiell did make chose of the said Alexander Stewart as his Gardian Whereupon it is ordered by the Court here that the said Alex.d Stewart take into his Care and possession all the Estate of the said William Dashiell both Reall and personall and that the said Elexander Stewart Give Security according to act of assembly to Comply with the Gardianship aforesaid &c Whereupon the said Alexander Stewart with John Handy and James Dashiell (his securities both of Somerset County Gentleman) all present here in Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and stand Justly Indebted unto the said William Dashiell in the Sum of Fifty pounds Sterling money of their bodys goods or Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and Seperately to be made and Levied to the Use of the said William Dashiell his heirs and assigns If it Happen that the said Alexander Stewart do not Comply with the Law in relation to the Gardianship aforesaid and do not deliver up unto the said William Dashiell his heirs and assignes all his Estate both reall and personall that he shall have of his in his hands and possession ^peaceably & quietly^ when he shall arrive at full age to receive the Same &c
to a certain John Westcout in Ireland to serve him or his assignes on the plantations in america for the space of three years on Condition that they should have eight days Liberty after there arrivall to get money to pay for their Passages which will appear by the Said John Wastcoats Assignement on the back of the Indenture on payment of which Your Petitioners Indentures were to be Void, But in Stead of Giving Your Petitioners the Eight Days Liberty aforesd the Said John Wastcoat keep your Petitioners Confirmed for Eight Days on board the Ship in order to barr your Petitioners from getting the Money to pay their passages till on the Ninth Day M.r Duncan Murray Came on board the Ship and the Said John Wastcoat through threat of Ill Useage forced Your Petitioners to Signe on the back of their Indentures to Serve Dunkin Murrey for four Years Now Your Petitioners having Served |
