her Utterly uncapable of Service so that your petitioner prayeth ^your worships^ would acquitt him of paying of Taxes for the Said Negro and Your most humble petitioner as in duty bound shall pray Thos Predix the petitioner aforesaid being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid Thomas Predix be discharged from paying of taxes for the aforesaid Negro Woman untill such time as please God to restore her to her health &c
James his said Master well and faithfully shall serve his secretts keep his Commandments Lawfull and honestly every where willingly shall do and in Al things as a good and faithfull Servant shall demean himselfe towards his said Master and all his during the term aforesaid In consideration of which Service the Said John Crafford present herein Court Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting on behalfe of the Same James Ryding that during the term aforesaid he will Learn his said apprentice the trade of a taylor and keep him at his Learning and at the expiration of his Servitude Give him a new Suit of Cloaths (a taylors Goose and shears and thimble) over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise find and provide for his Said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for such an apprentice to have and wear during the term aforesaid &c whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the aforesaid John Crafford Give Security for to Comply with the Covenants aforesaid &c Thereupon the Said John Crafford with John Caldwell of Somerset County Gent.m his Security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Said James Ryding in the Sum of twenty pounds Ster Joyntly and Severally of their Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements for the Use of the Said James Ryding his heirs and assignes If it happen that the Said John Crafford do not Learn his said apprentice during his Servitude afd the trade of a taylor and keep him at his Learning and at the expiration of his Servitude do not Give him a taylors Good Shares and Thimble and a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and do not find and provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging & Cloathing sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during his Servitude aforesaid then the above recognizance to be in full force and vertue &c otherwise &c Ceaser a negro Boy of Thomas Brown is adjudged by the Court ^to^ Five Years this term &c Formby a negro Boy of Thomas Brown is adjudged by the Court to Six Years &c |
