 Somerset ss    For as much as Levin Gale hath Suficiently
made appear to me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the
Peace for Somerset County that John Persons Late of the same
County Labourer is Indebted unto him the Sum of five pounds
Currant Money of Maryland and is run away and about to
    remove his Effects out of the County privatly these are in the Lord Proprtarys
    Name to require you Imediately on Sight hereof to Issue Attachment against
    the Effects of the Said John Persons for the Said Sum of five pounds and
    also what Costs shall accrew thereon according to the forme of the act of assembly
    in that Case made &c and for do doing this Shall be your Warrant given
    under my hand and seal this 22 of March 1731
To M.r Thom.s Hayward Cl of Somrset                        Jam.s Martin

    In Persuance to an act of Assembly of this Province now in force and in
    obedience to the afd Warrant the following Attachment was Issued against
    the goods and Chattells rights and Creditts of the afd John Persons the tenour
    whereof followeth in these Words Vizt   Somerset ss  Charles absolute Lord
    and propetary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of
    Baltemore &c  To the Sher of Somerset County greeting we Comand you that
    you Attach any the goods Chattells rights or Creditts of John Persons Late
    of Somerset County Labourer if they Shall be found in your bailywick
    to the Value of five pound Currant Money and Six hundred pounds of
    Tobacco and where you have the Same Attached or any part thereof the
    Same in your Costody safe keep so that you have the same before our
    Justices of our County Court of Somerset to be held at Dividing Creek the
    third tuesday of June Next then and there to be Condemned According to
    Act of Assembly to and for the Use of a Certain Levin Gale Esq.r  Unless the
    Said John Persons by himself or his Attorney shall appear and answere
    unto the said Levin Gale in a plea of trespass upon the Case &c  According
    to Law and that by good and Lawfull men of your bailywick you make
    known unto the Person or Persons in whose hands you make the Same
    Attachment that he Shey or they be and appear before our Justices of our County
    Court to be held as aforesd to Shew Cause if any he she or they have why the
    Same goods Chattells Rights or Creditts or Creditts so attached in his her or
    their hands ought not to be Condemed and Execution thereof had had and
    made According to act of Assembly in such Case made and provided if him
    her or them it Shall Seem meet and how you Shall save Execute this writt
    that you make known unto our said Justices at the day and place afd and
    have you then and there this writt Wittness Saml Hopkins Gent Chief
                                                                                                 Justices
