aforesaid &c    whereupon the Said John Brittingham with John Webb and Isaac Brittingham his Securitys all
present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to owe and be Indebted unto the Said
Elijah Brittingham in One hundred pounds Sterling Good and Lawfull mony of England of their bodys Goods &
Chattles Lands or tenements Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of the Said Elijah Brittingham
his heirs and assignes   if it Happen the aforesaid John Brittingham do not COmply with the Laws
in relation to the Guardianship aforesaid and do not Likewise deliver up unto the aforesaid Elijah Brittingham
(peaceably and Quietly) all his estate that he Shall have in his hands both Reall and personall ^when he shall arrive at full age to receive ye same^ that then the above

To the worshipfull the Justices of the County of Somerset now in Court the humble petn of
Thomas Selby humbly Sheweth that your petitioner has been under the Great hardship this
Severall Years in paying taxes for a slave that is unscurible of any manner of Business
therefore Your petitioner humbly prays to Consider the deplorable Estate of the above Negro slave being not
able to do any manner of Business since your petitioner had the hard fortune to ^buy^ by the Said Slave therefore
Your petitioner prays that your worships will be pleased to Consider your petitioner and to set your petition.rs
Negro tax free and in so doing Your petitioner is in duty bound for ever pray      Thos Selby

       The petition aforesaid being Read and heard   Wherefore it is Considered that the aforesaid Thomas
Selby be discharged from paying of taxes for the aforesaid Negro for the future as by the petition aforesaid
is praid &c


Benjamin Grumble a sisters son of Isaac Knott is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of ten years &c

Will a negro Boy of Maj.r Robert Kings is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of Nine Years &c

Peirce a negro Boy of the Reverend James Robinson is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of ten years &c

Bess a negro Girle of the Reverend James Robinson is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of Eight Years &c

Philis a negro Girle of Philip Quinton is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of nine years &c

Lawrence Evans son of William Evans dec.d is bound by the Court of his Own Consent
unto John Evans untill he arrives at the age of twenty One Years the said Lawrence to
serve his said Master the full term aforesaid during which term the said Lawrence his said
                   Master well and faithfully shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly
every where willingly shall do and in all things as a good and faithfull Servant shall demean himselfe
towards his said Master and al his during the term aforesaid &c

          In consideration of which Service the Said John Evans present herein Court Covenanteth with the Justices
of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting on behalfe of the Same Lawrence Evans that during the term aforesd
he will Learn his Said apprentice the trade of a Cordwainer and to Read and write well and at the
                                                                                                                                        Expiration
