Oath on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God to Execute the within Commission according
to the directions of the act of assembly in that Case made and provided according to the
best of their knowledge   Sworn to before me                                   Will.m Stoughton

Somerset County ss   Depositions of Wittnesses taken at the plantation of Joy Hobbs
where Thomas Hobbs now Lives at Moneigh in the County afd the 26.th day of June
ann Dom 1731 by Vertue of a Commission to us Directed out of his Lordship Court of
Somerset County bearing date the 20.th day of November 1730 for Examining
Evidences for the perputieating the Memory of the bounds of that Land Called Carnies
Chance Vizt      John Macragh of Somerset County aged about forty three Years
being Sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God says that about fifteen or sixteen
Years agoe Rich.d Cary and this Deponant was in the Woods together and said
Cary told him that a great Pine Standing by a Swamp A distance above Thomas
Hobbs plantation was the first bounder of a peice of Land Called Carnies Chance and
further Saith not                                                                              John Mccragh

Henry Newman aged about thirty Years being sworn Saith that about ten Years ago he was a hogg
hunting with Richard Cary and Coming to a Swamp Side he Saw a great pine marked and the aforesaid Cary told
this deponant that pine was a Corner tree of a peice of Land belonging to Joy Hobbs but he did not tell the name
of the Land and further Saith not                                                Henry Newman

NB  it was the Same tree that John Macragh shewed us & Swore to   taken the day & year aforesaid   Geo Dasheill

Lord Baron of Baltemore &c   To George Dashiel Thomas Gillis Edward North
and Will.m Keble all of Somerset County Gent Greeting know ye that
we have appointed you or any three or two of you to be our Commissioners to Examine
Evidences on behalf of a certain W.m Swellivant Guardian of Benj.a Mitchell of the
County afd in Relation to the bounds of a tract of Land Lying in the County aforesaid
Called Toneys Vineyard Wee therefore Require you or any three or two of you at Somerset
time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall Seem Convenient you meet on
the aforesd Land Called Toneys Vineyards (you first having taken you oaths on the holy
Evangelist of Allmighty God According according to act of assembly in Such Case
made and provided) and there Cause to Come before you or any three or two of you all such evidences as
Shall be to you or any three or two of you nominated by the said Complainant or deft (if any) and that you or
any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporall oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred
on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the presents of the Complainant or deft (if any)
touching the truth or Remembrances of their Knowledge or any thing that may Relate to the Cause afd and that
Reduceing the Severall depossitions into writing you send the Same together with this Our Commission under
your hands or any three or two of your hands to us to Our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient
