155 Chattells of a Certain Thomas Layfield then and there found then and there feloniously Stole took and Carried away against the peace of the Right honrble the Lord proprietary &c and against the form of the act of assembly in that Case made and provided L Gale P dom prory Test Thomas Layfeild, David Dredon Margt Williams On the backside of the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was Endorsed as Followeth Ignoramus Edw Rownd Foreman Now hereat this twenty first day of march one thousand seven hundred and thirty one before his Lordships Justices of the County Court of Somerset Now held at dividing Creek cometh the aforesaid Thomas Pingally and Catherine Pingally before the aforesaid Justices here in their proper persons according to a Certain Recognizance by them and their Securitys in that part first acknowledged and thereupon the Said Thomas Pingally and Catherine Pingally are discharged from their Recognizance aforesaid and Ordered to Give Security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid Whereupon a Certain John Dennis Jun.r present herein Court undertakes for the said Thomas Pingally and Catherine Pingally to pay the Severall Officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereupon a Certain John Dennis Jun.r present herein Court undertakes for the said Thomas Pingally and Catherine Pingally to pay the Severall Officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid &c Wm Smith, David Dredon, Margt Williams and Thomas Layfeild all Severally appeared herein Court to Give Evidence agt Thos Pingally and Catherine Pingally and were accordingly all discharged from their same Recognizances &c
Spinster the tenth day of November and Year aforesaid at the County aforesaid within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication and ^had^ born of her body a bastard Child against the peace of the Right honrble the Lord proprietary his Good rule and Government and also against the form of the act of assembly in Such Case made and provided whereof the said Levin Gale for the Said ^Lord^ prory prays advisement of the Court in the premisses &c L Gale P Dom propry Afterwards in the Same Court here to witt this twenty first day of march ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty One in her proper person Cometh the Said Esther Mullegan and being Immediately asked how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses above by the Information upon her Imposed says that of the premisses above upon her Imposed he is Guilty thereof and makes Oath that a Certain Geo Layfeiled is the father of the Child as She Stands accused of and is willing to pay her fine for the fact afd &c whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here being Seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid Esther Mullegan pay to his said Lordship for her fine by the Court here upon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form afd she is Convict to thirty Shillings (to the use of the County) and that the Said Esther be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd and Likewise the Said Esther is ordered by the Court here that she afd Give Security for the payment of ye fine afd and ye severall Officers fees due by occasion of the premisses afd thereupon a Certain Wm Lane of Somerset County Gent present here in Court in his proper person undertakes for ye said Esther to pay the fine and fees afd &c |
