Bridgett Smith
We of the Grand Jurors for the body of Somerset County upon Our Oaths do present a Certain Bridgett

Smith Spinster of Somerset parish for bearing of a bastard Child on the 27.th day of may ann Dom 1731

                      Whereupon Command was given to the Sher of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Bridgett Smith
late of Somerset parish in Somerset County Spinster if she should be found in his bailywick and her should safe keep so
that he might have her body before the Justices of his Lordship County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the
third tuesday of March then next to answer his Said Lordship of the premisses in the presentment aforesaid and that
thereof he Should not fail &c
                                                  Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the twenty first day of the same month one
thousand Seven hundred and thirty One the Sher of the County afd then being at the same day before his Lordship's Justices
of the County Court of Somerset at dividing Creek Returned that by Vertue of the preceipt aforesaid to him thereof
directed he had taken the body of the afd Bridgett Smith whose body he had there Ready &c

          Whereupon the Said Bridgett Smith in her proper person appears and is thereupon Immediately asked after what
manner She would acquitt herselfe of the premisses in the presentment aforesaid above upon her Imposed the same
Bridgett says that she Cannot deny but that she is Gilty of the premisses afd in the presentment aforesaid specified above
upon her Imposed &c                            whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and
fully understood     It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Bridgett Smith pay to his Said Lordship for her fine
by the Court hereupon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form aforesaid she is
Convict thirty Shillings Currant money (to the Use of the County) and that the Said Bridgett Smith be taken to Satisfie
his Said Lordship of the fine aforesaid &c    at the prayer of Nicholas Fountain master of the aforesaid Bridgett
Smith for to have an allowance against her for the Charge ^he was at^ and loss of time when she Lay in with the Bastard Child afd

    Whereupon the Said Bridgett Smith is adjudged by the Court to Serve her Said Master Nicholas Fountain his heirs
or assignes Six full months to Commence at the Expiration of her already Servitude with ye said Fountain which is
adjudged to be full Satisfaction for all his Charge & Loss of time when she Lay in as afd
and further it is ordered by the Court here that the said Bridgett Smith Give Security for the payment of the fine
aforesaid and all the officers fees due by means of the premisses afd  thereupon a Certain Randell Revell of
Somerset County planter present here in Court undertakes for to pay the fine afd and all the Officers fees due by
occasion of the premisses in Case ye said Bridgett doth not pay the same &c

Esther Jenkins
We of the Grand Jury for the body of Somerset County do present Easter Jenkins of
Somerset parish Spinster for bareing of a basterd Child at or about the 30.th
day of June Last                                               Nicholas fountain foreman
Whereupon Command was given to the Sher of Somerset County that he should
    take the said Ester Jenkins Late of somerset Parish ^in^ Somerset County Spinster if
    she should be found in her bailywick and hsi should safe keep so that he might
    have her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held
    at Dividing creek the third tuesday of March Next to answere his Lordship of
    the presentment aforesd and that thereof he should not fail &c

             Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the twenty first day of the
    same month one thousand Seven hundred and thirty one the Sher of the County
