134 Surveyor run the Line of Mount Hope from the Said Beach to the Stake aforesaid but did not find the first bounder but Isaiah Bredall at that time Said he knew where the bounder was but would not tell for he Said that if the Line was Run from the first Bounder he thought it wo'd take one or two of his houses and further sayeth not And further the abovesaid Archd Deal Says Isaiah Bredalls Old houses Stood on a Sort of a hill towards the Back woods and that he thought the Beach tree abovesaid Stood from them houses a Little more to the westward then where Thomas and Joseph Gray deposed and further Saith not as Wittness Our hands the day and Year abovesaid Jam.s Martin James Rownd
You to be our Commissioners to Examine Evidence on behalf of a Certain John Smith of the County aforesaid in relation to the bounds of two tracts of Land lying in the County aforesaid the one Called Cords Lott and the other Cows Quarter we therefore Require you or any three or two of you at Some time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall Seem Convenient You meet on the aforesaid two tracts of Land Called Cords Lott and Cows Quarter (you first having taken your oaths on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God According to act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided) and there Cause to come before you or any three or two of you all Such Evidence as Shall be to you or any three or two of you Nominated by the Said Complainant or Deft (if any) and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corperall Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you Administred on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the presents of the Complainant (or Deft) if any) touching the truth or Remembrances of their knowledge or any thing that may Relate to the Cause aforesaid and that reducing the Several Depositions into WRiting you Send the Same together with this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient Speed Wittness Sam Hopkins ^Gent^ Chief Justices of our said Court the Ninth Day of October in the Seventeenth Year of our Dominion &a Ann Dom one thousand Seven hundred and thirty one Now hereat to witt the Sixteenth day of November one thousand Seven hundred and thirty one came hereinto Court John Miller and John Holland two of the Gent Nominated in the aforesaid Commission and makes Return of the same Commission and Affidavitts as Followeth Vizt |
