127 County Gentleman is appointed by the Court Guardian to the afd Matha Givins untill the time as she shall arrive at full age by Law to Chose a Guardian &c whereupon it is ordered by the Court that Joseph Venables of Somerset County Gent.m deliver up unto the Said John Handy Guardian as aforesaid all the Estate of the Said Martha Givans both reall and personall that he hath in his hands &.c and it is Likewise it is ordered by the Court that the Said John Handy Give recognizance with two Security to Comply [illegible] Guardianship afd &.c whereupon the Said John Handy together with James Caldwell and Robert Givans of Somerset County Gentleman his Securitys all present herein Court in their proper persons and acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Said Martha Givans that is to say the Said John Handy in fifty pounds Sterling and the Said James Caldwell and Robert Givans in twenty five pounds Sterling Each of their bodys Goods and Chattells Lands or Tenements Seperately to be made and Levied for the Use of the Said Martha Givans her heirs and assigns if default be made in the Condition here underwritten &.c The Condition of the above Recognizance is Such that if the above bounden John Handy do and Shall well and truely Comply with the Law in Relation to Guardians and Likewise deliver up unto the Said Martha Givans or her Guardian all the estate of the Said Martha both real and personall when legally required peaceably and quietly &.c then the above Recognizance to be Void and of None Effect otherwise &.c William Elgate a poor Old man is by the Justices discharged from paying of Leveys for the future &c
Labour which Capt John Smith may better Inform Your worships Your humble petitioner prays Your worships will discharge me from paying any dues for the Said negro and Your petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray The petition aforesaid being Read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices hear that the afd Tabitha Parker be for the future discharged from paying of Levies for the afd Negro as by the petitioner aforesaid is praid &c
that he may be tax free and your petitioner will allways in duty bound to pray Nat Davis the petition afd being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered that the aforesaid Nathaniel Davis be discharged from paying of Levies for |
