1731 126 Christopher Nutter appointed Constable of Nanticoke hundred for the Ensuing Year &c John Jones appointed Constable of Many hundred for the Ensuing Year &.c Daniel Sturges appointed Constable of Mattapony hundred for the Ensuing Year &.c Timothy Adkinson appointed Constable of Wickacomoco hundred for the Ensuing Year &c George Benston appointed Constable of Manocan hundred for the Ensuing Year &.c Thomas Browne of Manocan is by the Court appointed pressmaster for the bay side for the Ensuing Year Edward Franklin appointed by the Court pressmaster for the sea side for the Ensuing Year &c Whereas there was a dedimus directed to William Stoughton John Handy and James Dashiell of of Somerset County Gentlemen to administer the Several Oaths appointed by act of assembly to the Government with the Oath of the Sher to Joshua Caldwell of the County afd Gent and to take bond &.c Now hereat this day to witt the Sixteenth day of November One thousand Seven hundred and thirty One In pursuance of the dedimus afd Came here into Court the afd William Stoughton John Handy and James Dashiell and Lays before the Same Court the Same dedimus and the Sher.s bond that they had taken and whereupon by the direction of the Court the Said Joshua Caldwell Gave a new bond &.c
his servats keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly Shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull Servant Shall demean herselfe towards her Said master and all his during her Servitude aforesaid Incon consideration of which Service the Said Benjamin Fooks the Said Sarah Shall during the term afd Learn to read well in the bible and to knitt Sew and Spinn and Other houswifery and likewise find and allow unto the Said Sarah during the Said term Sufficient and wholesome meat drink washing Lodging and apparell and all Other Necessarys meet for Such an apprentice and at the End of the Said term Shall find provide for and deliver unto the Said Apprentice One New Suit of Cloaths both of Linnen and wollen Over and above her Common Wearing apparell &.c Whereupon the Said Benjamin Fooks is Ordered by the Court here to Give recognizance in twenty pounds ster for to Comply with the Covenants aforesaid Thereupon the Said Benjamin Fooks present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himselfe to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Said Sarah Warrington in twenty pounds Sterling Good and Lawfull mony to be Levied of his body Goods or Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of the Said Sarah Warrington her heirs or assigns if default be made in the Condition here under Written The Condition of the above recognizance is Such that if the above Bounden Benjamin |
