117 Here Endorsed in these words Following viz.t Cepi Corpus John purnall sher whereupon the Said Edward Adams in his proper person appears and thereupon the Said Edward Adams at the prayer of the plft by his attorney is Adjudged to Give Special Bail to the action aforesaid Thereupon John Purnall of Somerset County Gent present herein court undertakes for the Said Edward Adams that if in Case the Said Abraham Ingram should Recover Judgment in the plea aforesaid against the Said Edward Adams or that the Said Edward Adams should be therein Convict that then he the Said Edward Adams Shall pay the Condemnation of the Court thereupon or Render his body to the Custody of the Sherrife of Somerset County in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said John purnall will do it for him thereupon the Said Edward Adams in his own proper person appears and Imparles here untill next Court &c
Philip the tenth day of november anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty at Somerset County within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the Same John in the Sum of four pounds Seventeen Shillings Currant money of Maryland as P account hereunto annexed herein Court produced may appear and so thereof being Indebted the Said Philip in consideration afterwards to witt the the Same day and year aforesaid at the County aforesaid and within the aforesaid Jurisdiction upon himselfe assumed and to the Said John then and there faithfully did promise that when afterwards he Should be thereto requested he the aforesaid Sum of Four pounds Seventeen Shillings to the Same John would well and faithfully Content and pay Nevertheless the Said Philip his promise and assumption aforesaid in form aforesaid made Little regarding butt plotting and fraudulently Intending him the Said John in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to defraud and deceive he the Said Philip the aforesaid Sum of Four pounds Seventeen Shillings nor any part thereof to the Same John hath paid or him for it in anywise Contented altho' the Said Philip afterwards to witt the Same day and year aforesaid at the County aforesaid and within the aforesaid Jurisdiction was thereto requested by the Same John but the Said Philip the Same to do hath altogether refused and Still doth refuse whereby the Same John Says he is worse and hath damage to the Value of nine pounds Fourteen Shillings Like money and thereof he brings this Suit Levin Gale P Quer pledges Jno Doe R Roe
