107 John Waters of Somerset County Gent.m appointed Overseer of the Roads in Annamessex hundred in the Stead of Jeffry Long for the Ensuing Year &c
Whereupon the Said William Evans appearance is Recorded and he and his Security accordingly discharged Thereupon the Said William Evans is Ordered by the Court to Give new Recognizance with One Security in Tenn pounds Sterling ^Each^ for his Good behaviour and appearance at november Court next Whereupon the Said William Evans with Capell King his Security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the right honrble the Lord proprietary in the Sum of Tenn pounds Sterling Each to be Levied of their Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements for the Use of his Said Lordship the Right honrble the Lord proprietary his heirs and Successors if default be made in the Condition hereunto WRitten The Condition of the above recognizance is Such that if the above bounden William Evans Shall make his personall appearance before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of November then next to answer unto Such matters and things as Shall be then and there Objected against him by a Certain Thomas Hall on his Said Lordships behalfe and Stand and abide the Judgm.t of the Court thereon and if he do not depart the Same Court without Leave thereof then the above recognizance to be void and of none Effect Otherwise to Stand and remain in full force and vertue thereof &c
it please your worships your petitioner lies at present at Great need of your worships favour in that the Said negro woman being quite descriped and unable to doe Ought or Labour as any Other Slaves are accustomed to do is only a Charge to your petitioner as Can be Verified before this worshipfull bench she being maimed on both her armes therefore Your humble petitioner prays that the Said negro woman may be Exemted from any tax or Levy for which favourable order by your worships your humble petitioner is in all duty bound to pray John Larimore The petition afd being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd John Larimore be discharged from paying of Taxes for the afd negroe woman Called Moll untill Such time as it Shall please God to restore her to the Use of her Limbs &c |
