One of her hands is feble that she is not able to handle a knife and whereas your worships hath in Cases of the Like nature discharged many from their Taxes, your Petitioner humbly prays that your worships will be pleased to Extend your Charity of the said Negro's Levey and your Petitioner as in duty bound shall Ever pray Eliz.a Davis The Petition afd being Read and heard and mature deliberation thereupon had Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd Negro' woman befor the future Levy free as by the Petition afd is Praid &c
are ancient and Past their Labour your Petitioner humbly prays your worships that he may be discharged for the future from paying of taxed for the afd Negro's according to ^an^ act of Assembly of this province Now in force The Premissis Considered and your Petitioner discharged from paying of Taxes for the afd Negroes will lay your Petitioner under the Strictest tyes to pray for your worships adam spence Junr The Petition afd being Read and heard and Mature deliberation thereupon had Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the Negro's afd of the afd Adam Spence befor the future Levey free as by the Petition afd is praid &c Whereas a Certain William George and W.m Marcy both of Somersett County Planters being accused of felony &c The said William George and William March both Present here in Court is Committed into the Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County there to remain ^un^till they deliver themselves thence by due Cours of Law the Said Sherr present herein Court took Charge of them accordingly &c And afterwards the afd William George and William Marcy are by the Same Court discharged from the Committment afd and ordered by the Court to give Security for all the officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses (Whereupon a Certain Walter Darby Came into Court in his proper person and undertakes for the said William Marcy for to pay all the Officers their fees due from him on account of the premisses Incase the said William Marcy doth not pay the Same) but for want thereof the Said William George is again Committed into the Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County there to remain the said Sherr present here in Court took Charge of the Said W.m George accordingly &c |
