Indictm.t Read is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the felony
above upon him Imposed says that of the felony afd so as afd upon him Imposed he is
no ways Guilty thereof and thereof for tryall he putts himselfe upon the Contrey and
George Dashiell who for his said Lordship in this behalfe Prosecutes Likewise

             Thereupon Command was is given to the Sherr of Somersett County that Immediately
he Cause to Come here twelve &.c by whom &c who neither &.c to recognize &.c because as well
&.c of which said Preceipt the said Sherr to witt francis Allen Gentleman Now hereat this day
to witt the Eighteenth day of June Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty Eight
Comes and makes return that he hath here ready twelve &.c as by his Said Preceipt he was Commanded
and the Jurors of that Jury therein Impannelled being Called Likewise Came to witt
James Martin, Jn.o Tull, Sam.l Derickson, Henry Toadvine, Isaiah Bredall, Richard rider
James Jones, Edward, Jones, W.m Jones Monocey, Thomas Collins, Thomas Brereton and Edmond
Hough who being duly Elected tryed and Sworne to Say the truth in the premisses upon their
Oath do say that the afd Timothy Soulivand is guilty of the felony whereof he stands
Indicted &c
                           Wherefore the Court here Values the goods in the Indictm.t afd Mentioned
to be stolen to Six hundred and Eleven pounds of tobacco,   Therefore it is Considered by
the Justices here that the afd Timothy Soulivand pay unto the afd W.m and Alexander Draper's
the parties deprived four fold of the value of the goods afd amounting to two thousand
four hundred and forty four pounds of tobacco (the afd goods being by the Court valued
According to Law) and that the afd Timothy Soulivand be whipt at the Publick whiping
Post with twenty Lashes on the bare back well Laid on untill the blood appear and ^that he^ stand
in the Pillowry a quarter of an hour and that he be taken &.c and thereupon as to the
Corporall Punishment afd Command is given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he do
thereof Immediate Execution ^of ye Judgmt afd rendered^ by whiping the afd Timothy Silivand at the publick
whiping post with twenty Lashes on the bare back well Laid on untill the blood appear
and sett him in the Pillowry a quarter of an hour and afterwards in the Same Court the sherr
Returns that he hath done the Execution of the Judgm.t afd as to the Corporall Punishm.t
afd he was Commanded &.c  Whereupon It's ordered by the Court the afd Timothy Soulivand
Return into the Service of his Master Aaron Linne, and at the Expiration of his servitude
to return him to the County Court of Somersett or the Sher of Said County to reemburst
what tobacco the County was oblidged to pay for him &c
