       June Court            1728         98

Return thereof that he hath here ready twelve &.c as by his said Preceipt he was Commanded and the Jurors
of that Jury therein Impannelled being Called Came to witt, James Martin, John Tull, Samuel Derickson, Henry
Toadvine, Isaiah Bredall, Richard Rider, James Jones, Edward Jones, Wm MccClemmey, Thomas Brereton ^Thomas Collins Edmd Hough^ who
being duely Elected tryed and Sworn to say the truth in the premisses upon their Oath do say that the Said
John Edwards is guilty of the trespass and assault whereof he Stands Indicted &c

                Wherefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd John Edward be whipt at the publick
whiping Post with thirty Nine Lashes on the bare back well Laid on untill the blood appear and that he stands
in the Pillowry halfe an hour and that he be taken &c thereupon as to the Corporall Punishmt afd Command
is given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he do thereof Immidate Execution by whiping the afd Jn.o
Edwards at the Publick whiping Post with thirty Nine Lashes on the Bare back well Laid on untill the
blood appear and by sitting him in the Pillowry halfe an hour and afterwards in the Same Court Came the
said Sherr and makes Return that he has done the Execution of the Judgmt afd as to the Corporall
Punishment afd he was Commanded whereupon the afd John Edwards is ordered to return home to his
Masters Service and that the said William Jones his Master Return him to the County Court of Somersett or
to the Sher of the County to Reemburst to the County what tobacco they paid the County the severall officers
for fees &c

                                     The Jurors for the Right honrble the ^Lord Proprietary^ of this province that now is
upon their Oath do present that Timothy Soulivand Late of Stepney Parish in Somersett County
             Planter a Servant man belonging to Aaron Lynne of said Parish and County Merchant the fear of God
before his Eyes not having but being Seduced and Inticed by the Instigation of the devill on the twenty Ninth day
of march anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty Eight with force and arms &.c at th Stepney Parish
afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court One Duroys Coat of the Value of three hundred pds
of tobacco of the proper goods and Chattells of a Certain William Drapper, Eight Yards of Stript holland of
the value of ten pounds of tobacco Each Yard, two yds and a halfe of Duroys of the value of Six pounds
of tobacco Each yard, Eighteen Yards of Irish Linnen of the value of twelve pounds of tobacco Each
Yard of the proper goods and Chattells of a Certain Alexander Draper then and there being and found
then and there feloniously did Steall take and Carry away against the peace of the Right honrble the
Lord Proprietary his good rule and Government &.c      Dashiell P Propry

          On the backside of the foregoeing bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorsed true bill Thos Humphrys foreman

                                           Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he should take
        the said Timothy Soulivand if &.c to answer &.c and afterwards herein the Same Court Came
    the said Timothy Soulivand in Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County into whose Custody was
