       Maryland Somrsett fs:   Aprill the 11.th day 1727

These are to Certifie that we the subscribers by vertue of his Lordships Commission to us Directed
from his Lordships Justices of S.d Co.ty to Examine Evidences to the Bounders of two tracts of
Land in the Possession of M.r Tho.s Humphris of S.d Co.ty at whose Petition s.d Commission
Issued bearing Date the Nineteenth day of Novem one thousand Seven hundred and
twenty Six according to act of assembly we did sett up our Notifications under our hands at
Stepney Parish Church & Chappell & other Publick places above thirty Dayes Before we
Mett on S.d Lands & haveing appointed by S.d Notifications to Meet one S.d Lands the
Eleventh day of aprill one thousand seven hundred & twenty seven & accordingly did Meet
one ye S.d Eleventh day & haveing Sumoned Will.m Kanes W.m Elgett & Jn.o Records for
Evidences & use Contending Party appearing or to appear that we Know or heard of we did
proseed & being Brought by said Kaines and Elgett to a marked white Oake Standing one ye
North west Side of Hitches Mill Branch on the South side of the Plantation where
M.r Tho.s Humphris Sen.r did live being Near ye Middle way from ye Main road roade to Docter Burds
fence which S.d oake they both declared to be the Bounder of Kanes Lott as appears by there
Depositions hereunto annexed & being Brought up the S.d Branch above ye house of the said
Tho.s Humphris about two hundred yards above the Wading Place of S.d Mill branch that
goes over to Francis Lancakes & one ye west side of the Water Course of S.d Branch they
where Shewed us a marked Black Gum Standing in Said Branch which S.d Gum W.m Elgett
and Jn.o Records did declare was the first Bounder of a tract of Land now in the Possession
of S.d Humphris Called Green Hill as will appear by there Depositions hereunto annexed

Somrsett Co.ty fs:   Aprill the 11.th Day 1727:  W.m Elgett aged about Seventy five
years being Sworn one ye Holy Evangelist of almighty God & Laying his hand one the s.d white
oake Deposeth & saith y.t he was at the first Surveying of the Land Called Kaines Lott &
that to ye Best of his Knowledge & remembrance that white oake was the second Bounder
of Kaines Lott & further Saith not Taken before us the day & year above Written

years Sworn one the Holy Evangelist of almighty God & Laying his hand one
the white oake afore Mentioned Declareth & saith that he was the uptaker of s.d three
hundred acres of Land Called Kaines Lott & that to the Best of his Knowledge that white
Oake where on he now hath his hand was Marked at the survey for the second bounder of
S.d Land Called Kaines Lott & further Saith not taken before us the day & year above

       Somrsett Co.ty fs:   Aprill the 11.th day 1727:  W.m Elgett aged about seventy five
years being sworn one the Holy Evangelist of almighty God & Laying his hand one the afd Marked
Black Gum Standing in the afd Branch Deposeth & Saith that he hath been shewed ye  said
Gum by severall of the old Standards as Tho.s Humphris Sen.r Philip Carter Manasses Moris
& others who all told this Deponant that ye s.d Gum was the first Bounder of fifty acres
of Land Called Green Hill now in the Possession of Thomas Humphris and further
