George Oston
    bound to
Edward Fowler
George Osten Son of Joseph Osten aged twelve Years the Last of this Month
is bound by the Court unto Edward Fowler untill he arrives to the age of
twenty One Years the said George Osten to Serve the Said Edward Fowler the
full term of time afd In consideration of which Servitude by the said George Osten
well and faithfully to be performed the said Edward Fowler undertakes to Learn him the trade
of a weaver and to read well in the bible and to write and to give him a heifer when he shall
arrive at the age of Eighteen and a new Suite of Cloaths at the Expiration of his Servitude
and to find him Sufficient meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for Such a Servant
to have and wear
                               Thereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the afd Edward fowler give
Security to Comply with the Covenants afd whereupon the Said Edward fowler with John
Jones his Security both present herein Court acknowledged themselves to owe and Stand Justly
Indebted unto the said George Osten in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling good and Lawfull
mony of England upon their bodys Goods and Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of the
Said George Osten to be made and Levied if default be made in the Condition hereunder
written
                     The Condition of the above recognizance is Such that if the above bound Edw.d
Fowler do and Shall well and faithfully Learn the said George Osten the trade of a weaver
and to read well in the bible and to write and to give him a hifer when he shall arrive at the
age of Eighteen; and at the Expiration of his Servitude to give him a new Suite of Cloaths
and find and provide for his Said Servant meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for
Such a Servant to have and wear then the above recognizance to be void Otherwise to Stand &
Remain in full force and Virtue in Law &c


William Jones of Manny brings his Servant John Edwards into Court who had absented
himselfe Out of his former Master James Lindows Service six days and four hundred pd.s
of tobacco paid for takeing him up when runaway &.a

                   Whereupon the said William Jones prays the Court that the Said John Edwards
may be adjudged to Serve him according to Law for the runaway time afd and the Charge in
taking up as afd &c
                                  Thereupon the said John Edwards present here in ^Court^ Confessed that
he had absented himselfe out of his masters Service six days and that he was willing to
Serve the said William Jones for it,   whereupon the said John Edwards is adjudged for
his masters service which amounts to thirty days in the whole and as for the afd four hundred
