 Command was given to the Sherr of somersett County that he should
take John Hendrey Late of Somersett County Mercht if he shall be found
in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body
       before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of somersett to be held at Dividing Creek the
       third tuesday of march then Next to answer unto Alexander Woodropp of a plea of trespass
       upon thes case &.c and that thereof he should not fail &c

                And the afd Alexander Woodropp by Levin Gale his attorney Complaineth against the
       afd John Hendrey in the plea afd as followeth vizt

              Somersett fs      John Hendry Late of Somersett County Merch.t was attached to answer
       unto Alexander Woodropp of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c

                   And whereupon the same Alexander by Levin Gale his attorney Complains that whereas
the afd John the tenth day of September anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty seven
at Somersett County within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted to the same Alexander in the
in the sum of twenty two pounds Nine Shillings and Nine pence halfe Penny Curr.t mony of
pensilvania of the Value of twenty two pounds Nine Shillings & Nine pence halfe penny Curr.t
mony of Maryland for Divers goods wares and Merchandizes to him at his Especiall Instance before
that time by the same Allexander sold and Delivered as by Acc.t here within Court produced may
appear and so thereof being Indebted the said John in Consideration thereof afterwards to witt the
same day and year afd at the County afd and within the afd Jurisdiction upon himselfe assumed
and to the same Allex.d then and there faithfully promissed that he when afterwards he should be
thereto requested he the afd sum of twenty two pounds Nine shillings and nine pence halfe
peny Curr.t mony of pensilvania the same Allex.d wou'd well and faithfully Content and pay
Nevertheless the said John his promise and assumption afd in form afd made not regarding
but plotting and fraudulently Intending him the same Allex.d in that part Craftilly and Subtilly
to defraud and Deceive the afd John ye afd sum of twenty two pounds Nine shill.s & Nine pence
halfe peny Curr.t Mony of pensilvania or any part thereof ^to^ the same Allex.d hath not paid or him for
it in any wise Contented altho' the same to do the afd John afterwards viz.t the same day & Year
afd at the County afd and within the afd Jur by the same Allex.d was requested but he the
same hitherto to Do hath altogether Refused and still doth Refuse whereby the same Allex.d
says he is worse and hath Damage to the value of forty pounds Curr Mony of maryland
and Thereof he Brings this Suite &.c        Levin Gale P Quer pledges &.c   Jno Doe Rd Roe
