by means of the said John Mathews being discharged from Out of his Service afd Then the above
Recognizance to be void and of None Effect otherwise &c

Ann Ralph
 We of the grand Jury do present Ann Ralph for bearing a bastard Child in June

or thereabouts     Stephen Tully Informer
                                                               Edmd Hough foreman
                                           Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of somersett County that he shou'd
       take the said Ann Ralph if ^she^ should be found in his bailywick and her should safe keep so that he
       might have her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somersett to be held at dividing
       Creek the third tuesday of March then Next to answer unto his said Lordship Concerning a Certain present
       ment against her found &.c and that thereof he should not fail &c

       Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the Ninteenth day of the Same month anno Dom one
thousand Seven hundred and twenty Seven being the day of the Return of the said writt Cometh the sher
of somersett County to whom the foregoeing writt was directed and makes return thereof to the Court here Endorsed
in these words following viz.t  Cepi Corpus P Fran: Allen sher

          Whereupon it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Ann Ralph be fined to his Lordship
the Lord proprietary the Sum of Six hundred pounds of tobacco (for the fact afd) toward the defraying
of the County Charge and that she be taken &.c  thereupon the said Ann Ralph is ordered to give
security for the paymt of the fine afd and all the Officers ^fees^ due by Occasion of the premisses afd thereupon
a Certain Robert Downes of the County afd present herein Court undertakes for the said Ann
Ralph to pay the fine afd and all the Officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &c

 We of the grand Jury do present Ann Crouch for bearing of a bastard Child
about the last of 8.thber    Mathew Dorman Informer    Edmd Hough foreman
                                        Thereupon Command was given unto the Sherr of Somersett County that he
             Should take the said Ann Crouch if she should be found in his Bailywick and her safe keep
so that he might have her body before the Justices of his Lordship's County Court of Somersett
to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of March then Next to answer unto his said Lordship
Concerning a Certain presentm.t against her found &.c and that thereof she he should not fail &c

Sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd
saith that she is guilty thereof and makes Oath that a Certain Purnall Johnson is the begetter of the
