 Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he
should take John Bishop Jun.r Late of Somersett County Planter if he shall
be found in his bailywick and him Should safe keep so that he might have
       his body before the Justices of his Lordships county court of somersett to be hold at dividing
       creek the third tuesday of November ^then^ next to answer unto Mathew Purnall of a plea
       of trespass upon the Case &.c and that thereof he should not fail &c

                    Att which said third tuesday of November to witt the twenty first day of the same month
       Ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty seven being the day of the return of the
       Said writt cometh the said Mathew Purnall by George Dashiell his attorney and the Sherr of
       somersett County to whom the foregoeing writt was directed Likewise Cometh and maketh
       return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in these words following viz.t
                                                                                              Cepi Corpus P Francis Allen sherr

             And whereupon the said John Bishop in his Own proper person comes and defends
       the force and Injury when &.c And says that he Cannot gainsay the Plft his action afd
       nor can he say but that the said Plft Ought to recover his damages by Occasion of
       the premisses afd to twelve hundred pounds of tobacco and Costs of Suite against him
       which ye said plft doth not gainsay &a

                   Therefore it is Considered by the Court here the twenty first day of Novem.r anno Dom
       One thousand seven hundred and twenty seven that the afd Mathew Purnall Recover against
       the afd John Bishop twelve hundred pounds of tobacco his damages afd in form afd Confessed
       as also two hundred and thirty five                           pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges
       by him about his suit in that part Expended to the same Mathew by the court here of his assent
       adjudged and the afd Deft in Mercy &c
