by their attorneys afd and the said Jacob Crouch by his said Attorney thereupon prayed further
Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is given
to the afd Plft here also &c

       Att which said next Court to witt the fifteenth day of August Anno Dom one thousand Seven
hundred and twenty seven Came again as well the afd Joseph MccClester as the afd Jacob Crouch
by their attorneys afd  And the afd Jacob Crouch by his said Attorney as before Defends the force
and Injury when &.c  And saith that he Cannot gainsay the action of the afd Joseph MccClester nor but
that ye afd Jacob Crouch did promise and assume upon himselfe in manner and form as the afd Joseph
above against him hath Complained nor Can he say but that the Same Jacob owes the afd Joseph the afd
Six hundred and Twelve pounds of tobacco and the declaration in all the words before Expressly Confesseth
&c
                     Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Joseph MccClester Recover against
the afd Jacob Crouch Six hundred and twelve pounds of tobacco his damages afd above in the declaration
afd specifyed as also Two hundred & sixty five                                                  pounds of tobacco for his
265   Costs and Charges by him about his Suite in that part Expended to the same Joseph by the Court here of
his assent adjudged and ye afd deft in Mercy &c

                         William Freeman Late of Somersett County Planter alls Dict
William Freeman of the County afd and Province of Maryland Planter
was Sumoned to answer unto Alex.d Mercy of a plea that he render unto
       him the full and Just Sum of Seven thousand pounds of good Bright sound Merchantable tob.o
       in Cask which to him he Owes and from him he Unjustly Detaines &c

                And Whereupon the same Allex.d by Levin Gale his attorney saith that whereas
       the afd William the sixteenth day of february Anno Dom one thousand Seven hundred and
       Sixteen Seventeen at Somersett County within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his Certain
       writing Obligatory Granted himselfe to be held and firmly Bound unto the same Allex.d
       in the sum of Seven Thousand pound of good ^sound^ Bright Marchantable tob.o in Cask to be
       paid the same Alex.d when afterward the said Will.m should be thereto Required Yett
       the afd William tho' often thereto Required the Seven thousand pd.s of tob.o to the
       same Alex.d hath not renderd but the said William the same hitherto to Do hath altogether
       Denyed and still Doth Deny and Injustly Detaine whereby the same Allex.d
       says he is worse and hath Damage to the Value of ten thousand pound of tob.o and
       thereof he Brings this suite   And the same Allexd brings hereinto Court the writing
       obligatory afd which ye Debt afd in form afd wittnesseth whose date is the same day & Year afd

               And the afd William Freeman in his own proper person Comes and Defends the force
       and Injury when &c   And prays Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court
