to the Court here Endorsed in these words following vizt   Cepi Corpus P John Purnall sher

                  Hugh Stewart who offered his Lordships writt against W.m Dure late of Somersett County
planter of a plea of trespass upon the Case prosecutes not his writt afd

                Therefore her and his pledges of prosecuting be in mercy and lett the plft name his pledges &c and
that the afd W.m Dure goe thereof without day also it is Considered that the afd William Dure Recover
against the afd Hugh Stewart his damages by Occasion of the premisses to one hundred and forty three pounds
of tobacco to the Same William by Discretion of the Justices here at his request for his Costs and Charges in that
part Sustained according to the form of the Statute in such Case Lately made and provided by the Court
here adjudged &c

 Somersett ss    Henry Gyllespie late of somersett County planter was attached to
Answer unto Quantin Bratton of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c
                 And whereupon the said Quanten by Francis Allen his attorney Complains
that whereas the said Henry the twenty fifth day of December one thousand
    seven hundred and twenty Nine at somersett County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted
    unto the said Quantin Brattin in five pounds three shillings and Six pence Curr.t money of Maryland as by accot
    hereunto annexed may in Court appear and and being so thereof Indebted the said Henry in Consideration
    thereof the day and year afd at the place afd upon himselfe did assume and to the said Quantin then and
    there did faithfully promise that he the said Henry the said five pounds three shillings and Six pence to
    the said Quantin when he should be thereunto requested he would well and faithfully pay and Content
    and altho' the said Henry two pounds Pcell of the afd five pounds three shillings and six pence to the
    Said Quantan he hath paid and satisfied Yett as to three pounds three shillings and six pence
    residue thereof the said Henry his promise and assumption afd in form afd made nothing regarding
    but plotting and fraudulently Intending the said Quantan in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to deceive
    and defraud the said three pounds three shillings and Six pence to the said Quantin altho' the same to
    do the said Henry by the said Quantin on the afd twenty fifth day of December and often afterwards
    at Somersett County afd within the Jurisdiction aforesaid he was thereunto requested hath not paid but
    the same to h im hitherto to pay hath refused and Still doth refuse and deny whereupon he saith he is
    worse and hath damage to the value of six pounds Curr.t mony afd and thereupon he brings Suite &c

Whereupon the afd Henry Gyllespie in his own proper person appears and thereupon the Said Henry
at the prayer of the afd Quantin by his attorney afd is adjudged to give Speciall bail to the action afd  Whereupon
a Certain Joseph Weight of somersett County planter present here in Court undertakes for the said Henry Gyllaspie
that if in Case the said Quantin Brattin shall recover Judgmt in the plea afd against the afd Henry or
that the said Henry should be therein Convict that then he the said Henry shall pay the Condemnation
of the Court thereupon or render his body to the Custody of the she of Somersett County in Satisfaction
