Barr is thereupon Instantly demand how She would Acquitt herselfe of ye premisses
afd Say's that she is Guilty of the premisses above Imposed upon her & is willing
to pay her fine for the fact afd  And Makes Oath that a Certain Jn.o Rogers
is the Begotter of the Child as She Stands Presented for   Wherefore it is Considered
by the Court here that the afd Ann Barton be fined to his Said Lordship for
the fact afd toward the defraying of ye Co.ty Charge Six Hundred Pounds of tob.o
& that she be taken &.c   Ordered by the Court that he give Security for the fine
afd due by Occasion of ye Premisses afd.  Thereupon a certain Jn.o Gilliland
Present here in Court undertakes for the said Ann Barton to pay ye fine afd
due by Means of the Premisses afd &a

          Att the prayer of the afd John Gilliland the Said Ann Barton is adjudged to serve him Six full month
for his trouble charge and Loss of time when delivered of the bastard Child afd which said Six months service to Commence
at the Expiration of her already Servitude and is adjudged full Satisfaction for all the trouble Charge &
Loss of time the Said John Gilliland was at when delivered of the Child afd &c            and at the Expiration
of her Servitude to return her to ye County Court or the sher of the County to reemburst to ye said County the
Severall Officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd &c

Begetting a bastard Child on ye Body of Sarah Southby

Thereupon Command is Given to ye sher of somrsett Co.ty yt he
                   Should take ye said Tho.s Fitzsith it &.c to answer &.c & afterwards in
the Same Court Came ye said Tho.s Fitzsith in his proper person & being by ye sher
Sett to ye Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt her^him^selfe
of ye premisses afd & says that he is Guilty of ye premisses afd but hath not wherewithall
to pay his fine for the fact afd

          Wherefore it is Considered by ye Justices here that ye afd Tho.s Fitzsith be Whipt at
    ye publick Whiping Post with five Lashes on the Bear Back Well Laid On and thereupon
as to ye Corporall Punishm.t afd Command is Given to ye sher of somrsett Co.ty that he do thereof
Immediate Execution by Whiping ye afd Tho.s Fitzsith at ye publick Whiping Post with five
Lashes on ye Bear Back well Laid On untill ye Blood appear & afterwards in ye same Court
ye Sher returns that he has don ye Execution of ye Judgm.t afd as to ye Corporall punishm.t
afd he was Commanded Whereupon Isaiah Bredall Master of ye said Tho.s Fitzsith
Present here in Court undertakes to deliver up unto Somrsett Co.ty Court or the Sher
thereof ye said Tho.s Fitzsith at ye Expiration of his Servitude to reimburst to said
Co.ty ye Severall officers their Fees due by Occasion of ye premisses afd &a

Province that Now is for ye Body of Somrsett Co.ty upon their Oath do present
that Geo: Lane Late of somrsett Co.ty Planter & Temperance Lane Late of
                               Somrsett Co.ty Spinster ye twelveth day of Janry Ann.o Dom one thousand Seven
    Hundred & twenty Nine at Somrsett Co.ty afd within ye Jur of this Court with force & arms
two knives & forks of ye value of twelve pounds of tob.o  Each & one Necklace of the
value of twenty Pounds of tob.o of ye Goods & Chattles of a Certain Moses Chaille and
Eight Yards of Ryband of ye Value of ten pounds of tob.o Each Yard of ye Goods
& Chattles of a Certain Peter Chaille then & there being found then & there felonously
