237 makes return that he had done the Execution of the Judgmt afd as to the Corporall punishmt afd he was Commanded also the said Margery Rewark present herein Court is ordered to Give Security for all the Officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses Thereupon a Certain John Caldwell of Somersett County Gent present here in Court undertakes for the Said Margery Rewark to pay the Severall Officers their fees dy due by Occasion of the premisses afd &c
late of allhollows Parish in the County afd at a Court held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of June Ann.o Dom One thousand Seven Hundred & twenty Nine was appointed Overseer of the road that Leads from the Widdow Robesons Over the Beaver Dam to the Indian river and ye Same Jones Records refuses to Clear the Same road According to his Said Order Against the form of An Act of assembly in Such Case Made & provided & Against the Peace of the LD P.r Dashiell Prosecutor P.r LD P.r Thereupon Command was given to the sher of Somersett County that he should take the said Jones Records if &.c to answer &.c And afterwards in the Same Court Came the Said Jones Records in his proper person and being by the Sher sett to the barr Indictm.t Read is Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed Submitts with a protestation of his Innocency and because he will not plead with his Said Lordship he putts himselfe upon the favour of the Court &.c Wherefore it is considered that the said Jones Records be taken to Satisfie his Said Lordship of his fine by Occasion of the premisses afd which same Jones Records then and there present in Court afd prays he may be admitted at fine with his said Lordship by Occasion afd and thereof he putts himselfe in mercy of his said Lordship and the fine of the said Jones Records is assessed by the Justices to one hundred pounds of tobacco toward the defraying of the County Charge &c Henry Mecabe appears according to the tenour of his recognizance and is discharged he paying the Severall Officers their fees &c Michael Sillivan appears according to his Recognizance Entered into for his good behaviour and appearance at this Court and is discharged he giving Security for the paying of the Severall officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd thereupon Henry Mecabe present here in Court undertake for the Said Michael Sillivan to pay the Severall Officers their Fees due as afd &c
said Alice Hopkins in her proper person and being by the sher sett to the barr presentmt reads pleads Guilty and Submitts to the mercy of the Court & Wherefore it is Considered by the Court here |
