233 Somersett ss Att a Court of the right honrble Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c held at dividing Creek in somersett County by his said Lordships Justices Commissioners and Justices of the peace to keep assigned) third tuesday of march being the seventeenth day of the same month and in the 15 year of his said Lordships Dominion &.c anno Dom 1729 Present
Proclamation being made in usuall form the Sherr of Somersett County (to witt) John Purnall Gent makes return of the pannell of Grand Jurors as followeth viz.t William Selby Martin Kennett, W.m Bozman Sen.r, Jones Records Will: Polk Day Scott W.m Turpin Sen.r Thomas Renchor Jos: Porter, John Brittingham, Robert Collier Edward Rownd, Richard Stevens, Thomas Claywell, Thomas Pridix Christopher Glass James Thompson Robert Hill Bartho: Fisher Whereupon Proclamation being made againe in Common form and the Jurors afd so as afd being Impannelled and severally Called Over by their Names do appear as above and thereupon they are sworn and Charged and sent out to Consider &.c soon after the after the grand Jurors being Impannelled sworn and Charged as afd return hereinto Court and severally Called over appear and being asked if they had agreed to any bills of Indictm.t or made any presentments Return the following Indictmt and presentments against William Stoughton, Ann Carzy, John Lee ^Martin Lewis & Eliza Davis^ and thereupon the grand Jurors afd are discharged and ordered that they be allowed five hundred pounds of tobacco for their publick service this Court to be paid next Levey Court and against the afd Persons Indicted and presented it is ordered the that Capias Issue returnable to next Court &c Coll: Levin Gale Produceth a Commission (from Michael Howard Esq.r attorney Gen.l of the province of Maryland) as Clark of the Indictments for somersett County who is approved of he taking the severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to the Government and Subscribing the Oath of abjuration and test thereupon the said Levin Gale took the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly with the Oath of prosecutor and Subscribed the Oath of abjuration and test and is according admitted to practice &c
