220 Oath of abjuration and test and take their places as Followeth viz.t
Proclamation being made in Usual form the Sherr of Somersett to witt John Purnall Gent.m makes return of the pannel of Grand Jurors as followeth viz.t Edward Rownd, John Dorman, George Goddard, Stephen Walton, James Thompson Nehemiah Holland Thomas Dixon Richd Knight, William Porter, Robert Davis Jn.o Denston, Joseph Gillis Barkley Fisher, Richard Chambers Underwood Renchor, Robert Mitchell, Arthur Warwick Peter Frazer James Word W.m Aydelott & randall Smullin Whereupon Proclamation being made againe in common form and the Jurors afd so as afd being Impannelled and severally called over by their names do appear as above and thereupon they are sworn and Charged & sent out to Consider &c soon after the grand Jurors afd being Impannelled sworn and Charged as afd return here into court and severally Called Over appear and being asked if they had agreed to any bills of Indictm.t or made any presentments Return ye following Presentments against George Horner Jun.r, Margt Taylor, Eliz.a Bratton, Tho.s Davis, Sarah Southby, Eliz.a Finch, Eliz.a Tingle and Indictm.t against Jones Records thereupon the grand Jurors are discharged and ordered that they be allowed for their public Service this Court five hundred pounds of tobo to be paid next Levy Court and against the Severall persons so as afd prosecuted and Indicted it is ordered that Capias Issue returnable to next Court &c
and noe ways hurtfull to the County I hope the honrble Court will grant me my request He Engage to make the ^said^ peice of road ^as^ good and the former and remain Obliged tot he honrble Court Comfort Benton The Petition aforesaid being read and hears Wherefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Road be turned as by the petition afd is praid she the said Comfort Benton first making the new road as good as the old &c
without maintaining a lane of fence humbly prays he may have an Order of Court to turn the same it being noe ways hurtfull to Travellers nor a quarter of a mile further about and as in duty bound shall ever pray Jeremiah Brittingham The petition aforesaid being read and heard Wherefore it is Considered by the Court that the afd Jeremiah Brittingham turn the road as by the petition afd is praid he first making the new road as good and passable as the Old &c |
