220 Hopkins, William Planner, John Jones William Fasitt John Smith Balt.r hundred William Stoughton John Caldwell John Macclester, John Handy, James Dashiell John Scot and robert King and none Others to be Judges also by these presents we do Command ye Sher of our said County of somersett that at the Severall Courts to be held for Our said County he give his attendance and Cause to Come before you or any three or more of you as afd such and so many good and Lawfull men of his bailywick out of each and every hundred thereof by whom the truth of the matter in the premisses may be the better known & Enquired of Lastly you shall Cause to be brought before you at your said Courts all writts preceipts process and Indictments to your Courts and Jurisdiction belonging that the Same may be Inspected and by due course of law determined Wittness our dear Brother Bend.t Leon.d Calvert Esqr our Leiu.t Gen.ll and Chiefe Governour in and Over this Our province of Maryland this first day of November in ye fifteenth year of Our dominion &c Annoq Dom: 1729 Ben.d Leon.d Calvert On the back side of the foregoeing Commission it was thus Endorsed viz.t Maryland ss Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c To Samuel Hopkins William Planner, John Jones, William Fasitt and John Smith of Balt.r hundred of Somersett County Gent.m greeting We do hereby authorize and Impower you and Either of you to administer the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Government as also the Oath of Justice to William Stoughton, John Caldwell John Macclester John Handy, James Dashiell John Scott and Robert King of the Same County Gent or any of them and you the Same William Stoughton John Caldwell, John Macclester John Handy James Dashiell John Scott and Robert King or any of them you having taken the said Oaths are hereby Impowred to Administer the Same to the Justices and Commissioners respectively as they are nominated in the within Commission and we will that you and every of you having taken the said Oaths do severally subscribe the test and Oath of Abjuration and for so doing this shall be your sufficient warrent and authority hereof fail not and when you have the Same so done you are to Certifie the same under your hands and Seales to us in Our high Court of Chancery with all Convenient speed Wittness our dear Brother Bendt Leond Calver Esq.r our Leiu.t Gen.ll and Chiefe Governour in and Over this Our province of Maryland this first day of Novem in the fifteenth year of Our Dominion &.a Annoq Dom 1729 Bendt Leond Calver (Great seal) Which being read and heard thereupon W.m Planner, John Jones, Wm Fasitt, and Jno Smith of Baltemore hundred Gent pursuant to the dedimus to them directed administer the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Government and the accustomed oath of Justice to W.m Stoughton, Jno Caldwell, Jno MccClester, John Handy James Dashiell and John Scott who Severally take the Same and Subscribe the Oath of abjuration and test and take their places and thereupon afterwards the said William Stoughton Jno Caldwell, Jno MccClester, Jn.o Handy James Dashiell and John Scott administred the Same Oaths to Wm Planner, Jno Jones Wm Fasitt and John Smith Balt.r hundred who take the Same and Severally Subscribe the oath |
