205 in somersett County the third tuesday of November Next to answer unto which Matters as shall be Objected against her by the afd Philip Covington and to do and receive what shall be then and there Enjoyed by the Court and in the mean time to keep the peace of his said Lordship as well towards his said Lordship as all his good people and Especially towards the said Philip Covington and do not depart the Same Court without Leave thereof &.c Then the above recognizance to be void and of None Effect Otherwise to remain in full force and vertue &c
time and the said Coving^ton^ hath not paid her fredom dues according to law tho she hath demanded the same the premisses Considered your Petitioner as in duty bound shall pray Whereupon as well the afd Philip Covington as the afd Petitioners being present here in Court the afd Petition being Read and heard and the severall allegations as well on the part of the said Petitioners as on the part of the said Philip Covington being understood and mature deliberation thereupon had &.c Whereupon it is Considered and Ordered by the Justices here that the afd Philip Covington pay unto the afd Abraham Puckham and Honour his wife all such freedom dues as to such servants is allowed by Law &.c Ordered by the Court that the road be turned in Parahawkin from about a mile to the northward of a deep branch to about three quarters of a mile to the Southward of the same branch into ye road that Teague Riggin is overseer of according to ye direction of said Riggin &c
Occasion to make use of Now Your Petitioner humbly prays Your worships to grant your Petitioner to turn the above said Road somthing Higher the Mill dam (it being but about 120 Yards further and ye road as good) and your Petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray The Petition afd being read and heard and mature deliberation thereupon had Wherefore it is Considered that the afd Hebr Whittingham turn ye road as by ye Petition afd is praid he makeing ye same passable and Good as the old &c Henry Fitzwaters agrees with the Court for to have the two houses at the Court hous where Philip Taylor Lives and he paying for the same twenty five shillings or three hundred pounds of tobacco p year &c |
