204 Somersett fs Att a Court of the Right honrble the Lord Proprietary of the province of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c held at Dividing in Somersett County by his Lordships Commissioners and Justices of the peace the third tuesday of August being the Ninteenth day of the Same month and in the 15.th Year of Our Dom his said Lordships Dominion ann.o Dom 1729 Present
Jack a negro boy of John Caldwell is adjudged by the Court to be of age of seven years Dinah a negro Girle of Ditto is adjudged by the Court to the afd of Eight Years &c Rose a negro Girle of Charles Roach is adjudged by the Court to the age of Nine Years &.c York a negro Girle of Ditto is adjudged by the Court to be ^of the age^ of Eight Years &.c Hannah a negro Girle of George Benston is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of six years Dinah a negro Girle of Thomas Pullett is adjudged by the Court to seven years of age &c
should Imploy him in or about the full term of time afd In consideration of which said Service the said Johanna Hugg promiseth to Learn the said Henry Freaks during his Servitude the trade art or Mistery of a weaver & to read in the bible and find and Provide for her said Servant meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for such a servant to have and weare &c Whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the afd Johanna Hugg give Recognizance for her Complying with the Covenants afd Thereupon the aforesaid Johannah Hugg by with George Benston her security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto the afd Henry Freaks in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling good and Lawfull mony of England of their Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and Seperately to be made and Levi'd for the use of the said Henry Freaks if default be made in the Condition hereunder written The Condition of this Recognizance is Such that if the above bounden Johannah Hugg do and Shall well and faithfully Learn the Said Henry Freaks during his Servitude the trade of a weaver and to read well in the bible and find and provide for her said Servant meat drink washing Lodging and apparell mete for such a servant to have and weare &c |
