1727 16 the said Johnson Hill is to Learn the said John Richardson the trade of a weaver and to read well in the bible during his servitude and to give him a new suite of apparell at the Expiration of his Servitude afd &c whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that he give security in the sum of twenty pounds Sterling for to Comply with the Covenants afd Whereupon the afd Johnson Hill present here in Court acknowledged himselfe to owe & be Indebted unto the said John Richardson in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterrling good & Lawfull mony of England to be Levied upon his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of the said John Richardson in Case the said he doth not Comply with the Covenants afd &c Whereas at the prayer of Mr John Leatherbury, Peter Sirman, George Goddard and William Sillavan they obtained Leave ^of the Court^ formerly of ^for^ turning the Road that Leads by their Plantations on wickacomoco Creek &c Therefore it is now ordered that by the Court that the said Road so as afd turned stand inalterable the Said John Leatherbury, Peter Sirman George Goddard and William Sillivan do make and keep the said New road good and passable for so long a time as the same New road Shall remain that is Every ^the^ persons afd keeping and makeing ^that part of^ the road good and Passable that Leads over their Lands at their own proper Costs and Charges the said Jno Leatherbury, Peter Sirman, George Goddard, and Willm Sillavant Complying with the above Order to be Excluded their Labouring on other Roads &c
of the County afd to be Executor &c the said Henry Ballard being present here in Court is ordered to give good security for the paym.t of the afd fifty four pounds and seven pence to David Magraw Eliz.a Magraw, and Richard Magraw when they Shall arrive at full age to receive the same according to Law &c Whereupon the said Henry Ballard together with John Leatherbury his Security both present in Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Said David Magraw, Eliz.a Magraw and Richard Magraw in the sum of one hundred & Eight pounds One shilling and two pence Currt mony to be Levied upon their bodys goods & Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of the said David Eliz.a and Richard Magraw their heirs and assignes if default be made in the Condition here under written The Condition of the above recognizance is such that if the above Bound Henry Ballard his |
