Judgm.t in the plea aforesaid against ^the said^ John Pepper or that the said John Pepper shall shall be therein
Convict that then ^he^ the said John Pepper shall pay the Condemnation of the Court thereupon or render
his body to the Custody of the Sher of Somersett County in satisfaction thereof or that he the Said William
Bishop will do it for him thereupon the said John Pepper by George Dashiell his attorney appears &
Imparles till next Court &c

 Command was given to the sher of Somersett County that he should be
take Joseph Hall late of Somersett county if he shall be found in his bailywick
and him should safe keep so that you have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County
       Court of Somersett to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of March then next to answer unto Robert Cravens of a plea
       of trespass upon the case &c and that thereof he should not fail &.a

                               And the afd Robert Craven by francis Allen his attorney declared against the aforesaid Joseph Hall in the
       plea afd as followeth vizt
                                                       Somersett County   Joseph Hall late of somersett County planter was attached to
       answer unto Robert Cravens of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c

                And whereupon the said Robert by francis Allen his attorney complaines that whereas the said Jos:
the thirtieth day of September One thousand Seven hundred and twenty six at somersett County within the Jurisdiction
of this Court was Indebted unto the said Robert in ten pounds Curr.t money of Maryland as by account hereunto
annexed and herein court produced may appear and being so thereof Indebted the said Joseph in consideration
thereof the day and year aforesaid at the County aforesaid upon himselfe did assume and to the said Robert then &
there did faithfully promise that he the said Joseph the said Ten pounds to the said Robert when he should
be thereunto Requested he would well and faithfully pay and Content and altho' the Said Joseph four pounds
Pcell of the afd Ten pounds to the said Robert he hath paid and satisfied yett as to six pounds residue
thereof the said Joseph his promise and assumption aforesaid in form aforesaid made nothing regarding but plotting
and fraudulently Intending the said Robert in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to deceive and defraud
the said Six pounds to the said Robert altho' the same to do the said Joseph by the said Robert on the aforesaid
thirtieth day of September in the year afd and often afterwards at the County afd he was thereunto Requested hath
not paid or to him for the same in any wise Contented but the same to him to pay or in any wise for the same to
Content hath hitherto altogether Refused and Still doth refuse and deny whereupon he saith he is worse and
hath damage to the value of twelve pounds money aforesaid and thereupon he brings suite &c

    A Copy of the foregoeing declaration and account were made and sent to be served on the defend.t with the writt
in the plea aforesaid
                                        Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the Eighteenth day of the Same month
ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty Eight being the day of the Return of the said writt Cometh
the said Robt Cravens by his attorney aforesaid and the sher of Somersett County to whom the foregoeing writt was
directed Likewise Cometh and maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in these words following viz.t
                                                                            Cepi Corpus declaration delivered in time P Jno Purnall sher

Whereupon the said Joseph Hall being Called appears and thereupon the Said Joseph Hall at the
prayer of the plfts attorney afd is adjudged to give Speciall Bail to the action afd thereupon a Certain
Thomas Pointer of Somersett County planter present here in Court undertakes for the Said Joseph
