And Whereupon the Said Sam.^l by Francis Allen his att^ry Complaines that whereas
the Said Andrew y^e twenty Eight day of June Ann^o Dom Seventeen Hundred ^& twenty^ Eight at y^e
County afd within y^e Jur of this Court was Indebted unto the Said Sam.^l in one pound
Sixteen Shill^s & three pence Curr.^t money of Maryland for Divers Goods wares & Merchandizes
by y^e Same Sam.^l to y^e afd Andrew Sold & Delivered & being so thereof Indebted y^e
Said Andrew in Consideration thereof y^e day & year at y^e Co.^ty afd upon himselfe did
assume to y^e Said Sam.^l then & there faithfully did promise that he y^e Said Andrew
the Said One p.^ds Sixteen Shill^s & three pence to y^e Said Sam.^l when thereunto afterwards
he Should be requested he would well & faithfully pay & Content Nevertheless y^e afd
Andrew his promise & assumption afd in form afd made Nothing regarding but plotting &
fraudulently Intending the Said Samuel in that part Craftilly & Subtilly to Deceive & Defraud
the Said One pd.^s Sixteen Shill.^s & three pence Curr.^t Mony to the Said Sam.^l altho' the same
to do the Said Andrew on y^e afd twenty Eighth day of June in the Year afd & often afterwards
at y^e Co.^ty afd by y^e Said Sam.^l he was thereunto requested hath not paid but
the Same to him hitherto to pay or in any Sort to Content hath refused & Still doth
Refuse & Deny Whereupon he is worse & hath Damage to the Value of three pounds
twelve Shills & Six pence Like Mony And thereupon he Brings Suite &^a

         Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the Eighteenth day of the Same month ann.^o
Dom one thousand Seven hundred and twenty Eight being the day of the Return of the Said Writt
Cometh the said Samuel Hopkins by his attorney afd and the sher of Somersett County to whom the
foregoeing writt was directed Likewise Cometh and maketh Return thereof to the Court here Endorsed viz.^t

          Whereupon the aforesaid Samuel Hopkins by his attorney afd prays that forasmuch as he hath
Complyed with the Law in [illegible] to ^an^ attachments he may have Judgm.^t against the afd Andrew
Turner for his damages by way of attachment according to act of assembly &.^c  Whereupon for
that it seems to the Court here that the afd Samuel Hopkins has Comply with the Law as alledged

                Therefore it is Considered by the Court that the afd Samuel Hopkins Recover against
the aforesaid Andrew Turner One pounds Sixteen shillings and three pence Curr.^t mony his Damages afd
209   as also all Costs and Charges by the Said Plft Laid out & Expended by way of attachment against the
goods Chattells Rights or Creditts of the said Andrew Turner according to act of assembly in such
Case made and provided &^c
