156 Holbrook then and there present in Court afd prays that he may be admitted to make fine to his said Lordship for the fact afd and the same Thomas Holbrook is by the Justices fined two hundred pounds of tobacco the One halfe of which fine to the use of his said Lordship the other halfe to Levin Gale the Informer &.a Thereupon the said Thomas Holbrook is discharged paying the severall officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &a Thomas Nelson appears according to his Recognizance for the good behaviour and is discharged he giving security for the paym.t of the Severall officers their fees &.c whereupon a Certain Underwood Renchor undertakes for to pay the said officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &.a
to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the sum of Ten pounds ster good and Lawfull money of England of his goods and Chattells Lands or tenements to be made & levied for the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors if default be made in the Condition hereunder written The Condition of this Recognizance is such that if the above Bounden Thomas Holbrook shall personally appear at the next Court to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of June next to do and Receive what shall be then and there Enjoyned him by the Court and in the mean time to be of the good behaviour towards his said Lordship and all others his good people and more Especially towards a Certain Thomas Godard &.c then the above Recognizance to be void otherwise &c Somersett County fs The Jurors for the Right honrble Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the province of maryland for the Body of Somrsett County that Now is upon their Oath &c doe present that Thomas Holbrook Late of Somrsett County afd in Stepney Parish planter Within the Jur of this Court on the fourth day of febry Ann.o Dom one thousand Seven Hundred & twenty Eight with force and Armes &.a in and upon a Certain Tho.s Godart in ye Peace of God &.a being did make an assault & affrays & him ye Same Thomas Godart then & there did beat Wound & Evill Intreat so that of his Life it was Dispared And Other Harms to him did to ye Great Damage of the Same Thomas Godart and against the peace of the Said Lord proprietary Dashiell prosecutor for his LDp.r Test Thomas Goddard On the Back side of the foregoeing Bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorsed viz.t Ignoramus George Scott foreman
