          Novem Court            1728     133

the afd Mathew Hopkins undertakes to learne his said apprentice dureing his Servitude the trade of
of a wheel wright and to read well in the bible and to write and Cypher as far as the rule of three
and at the Expiration of his Servitude to give him a Sett of whele wrights tooles and a new Suit of
Cloaths and Likewise find and provide for his Said Servant during his Servitude meat drink washing
Loging and Cloathing sufficient for such a Servant to have & wear &c

             Whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the said Mathew Hopkins give Security
to Comply with Covenants afd and that John Scarbrough deliver up unto the Said Mathew Hopkins
all the Estate of the afd Harrison Ayres that he hath in his hands Lett it be of what Kind soever and
further it is Ordered that the said Mathew Hopkins take the said Estate into his Care and the Same
redeliver unto the afd Harrison Ayres when he shall arrive at full age to receive the Same &a

                               Whereupon the afd Mathew Hopkins with Johnson Hill his Security both
present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and stand Justly
indebted unto the afd Harrison Ayres in the sum of twenty pounds Ster good and Lawfull of
England of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements seperately to be made and Levied for the
use of the afd Harrison Ayres his heirs and assigns if default be made in the Condition hereunder
written
                       The Condition of the above Recognizance is Such that if the above Bound Mathew
Hopkins do and shall well and truely Learn the afd Harrison Ayres the trade of a wheelwright and
Read well in the bible and write and Cypher as far as the Rule of three dureing his Servitude afd
and at the Expiration thereof to give him a sett of wheelwrights Tooles and a new suite of Cloaths
and Likewise find and Provide for his Said Servant Sufficient meat drink washing Loging and
Cloathing during his Servitude afd &c   Then the above Recognizance to be void otherwise &c

the fifth day of Novem.r Instant is bound by the Court of her Own Consent
untill she arrives to the age of Sixteen unto Mary Nicholson the said Lettice
Nailer to Serve her said Mistress the full term of time afd in all Such Lawfull Service as shall
shall Imploy her in or about &c
                                                      In consideration of which Servitude the afd the afd
Mary Nicholson undertakes for to Learn the said Lettice Nailer to Knitt sew and Spin and other
houswifery and Likewise find and provide for her ^said servant^ meat drink washing Loging and Cloathing mete
for her to have and wear dureing her Servitude afd &c


Sibb a negro Girle of Mr Edmond Hough is adjudged by the Court to be twelve Years of age &c

Sepi a negro boy of M.r Edmond Hough is adjudged to be of the Age of Eight Years &c

Oston a negro Boy of Samuel Hopkins Jun.r is adjudged by the Court to the age of ten Years &c

Whereas a Certain Mathew Ayres son of Henry Ayres dec.d an orphan Be being folish and not
any person to take Care of him &.c wherefore it is Ordered by the Court that John Scarbrough take
the said Mathew Ayres and his Estate into his Care and find and provide for him such Nessary's as
is sufficient for him to have and wear &c
