August Court
1728 117 Benjamin Mitchell son of John Mitchell dec.d being of full age for to Chose his guardian Comes here into Court and prays that he may be admitted to Chose William Sillivant ^as^ his Guardian which is granted &c thereupon it is ordered by the Court that the said William Sillivant g take into his Case and Possession all the Estate of the afd Benj.a Mitchell both reall and Personall and that he give Security to Comply with the Law in Relation to the Guardianship of the afd Benjamin Mitchell Whereupon the afd William Sillivant with Peter Sirman his Security ^both^ all present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the said Benj.a Mitchell in the Sum of fifty pounds Sterling mony of England of their Goods and Chattells lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied for the use of the afd Benjamin Mitchell if default be made in the Condition hereunder written The Condition of the above Recognizance is Such that if the above Bound William Sillivant do at all times hereafter C in every Respect Comply with the Law in Relation to Guardians and when the afd Benj.a Mitchell shall arrive to full age to receive his Estate that he ye said William Sillivant Shall deliver the Same up unto him (both reall and personall) quietly and Peaceably then the above Recognizance to be Void and of None Effect Otherwise to remain in full force and virtue &c It is Ordered by the Court that Thomas Covington be Overseer and Clear a road according to the direction of Mr Ebenezer Handy and Mr Thomas Humphrys, the most nearest best and the last of Prejudice to any person or persons from the Cyprus Bridge over the head of wickacomoco River to the main road that Leads by John Ricketts &c Ordered by the court that Robert Hill be Overseer of the Road in Boquetennorton hundred in the stead of Benj.a Burton for the Ensueing Year &c Ordered by the Court that Robert King of Somersett County Gent.m be Overseer of the Roads in stead of Upsher King for the Ensuing Year &c
Whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the afd Solomon Tull Give Recognizance for the paym.t of the afd five pounds two Shillings and Six pence unto the afd Hannah Henderson when She shall arrive at full age to receive at full age to Chose Receive the Same Thereupon the afd Solomon Tull ^with^ Samuel Dorman and Thomas Tull all present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto |
