116 John Purnall of Somersett County Gent.m Produceth a Commission for the Sherr office of Somersett County who is approved he takeing the Severall Oaths appointed to the government with the Oath of Sherr &c Whereupon the said John Purnall took the Several Oath appointed by Law to the governm.t with the Oath of high Sherr of the County afd and Subscribed the Oath of abjuration and test &c Afterwards in the same Court here the afd John Purnall offers Hutton Hill, John Dennis Jun.r and Joshua Sturges all of Somersett County ^as undersherrifs^ who are approved of they takeing the severall Oaths appointed by the Law to the government with the Oath of undersherr Thereupon the Said Hutton Hill, Jno Dennis Jun.r and Joshua Sturges all Severally Subs took the Oaths to the governm.t afd with the Oath of Undersherrife and subscribed the Oath of abjuration and test &c Francis Allen of Somersett County Gent.m humbly Prays the Court here that he may be admitted one of the Practitioners of the law &c which is granted &c he taking the Severall Oaths appointed by Law &c thereupon the afd francis Allen took the severall Oaths appointed by Law and subscribed the Oath of abjuration and test &c Jemmy a negro boy of Eliz.a Burton is adjudged by the Court to Nine Years of age &c
of age the time afd honestly & faithfully the Inconsideration of which servitude the afd David Dredon sen.r Promiseth to Learn the afd David Wood during his Servitude the trade of a Shoemaker and tanner and to Read and write and at the Expiration of his Servitude to give him a new Suit of Cloaths whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the afd David Dredon give Security to Comply with the Covenants afd Thereupon the afd David Dredon with Saml Mills his security both present herein Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and ^stand^ Justly Indebted unto the afd David Wood in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterlling mony of England of their bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements Seperately to be made and Levied for the Use of the Said David Wood his heirs and assignes if default be made in the Condition hereunder written the |
